About the Speakers
Conor O’Brien Audit & Business Advisory Partner, Russell Brennan Keane Conor specialises in audit and business advisory services for SMEs, large indigenous companies and subsidiaries of multinationals. His non-audit work includes internal audit and Sarbanes Oxley assignments. Assisting many businesses with their transition to FRS 102 and first time adoption of international financial reporting standards, Conor also advises start-up and owner managed companies on working capital management, banking and preparation of financial projections. A UCD graduate, Conor joined RBK as a Partner in 2015.
Dr. Loretta O’Sullivan Group Chief Economist, Bank of Ireland Dr. Loretta O’Sullivan was appointed Group Chief Economist at Bank of Ireland in March 2014. Loretta joined the Group from the Central Bank of Ireland, where she held the position of Senior Economist within the Monetary Policy & International Relations Division. Prior to that, she was a Senior Economist at the Department of Finance, during which time, she was seconded for two years to the European Commission’s Economic and Financial Affairs Directorate in Brussels. She holds a Ph.D in Economics from Trinity College, Dublin. As Group Chief Economist, Loretta heads up the Group’s Economic Research Unit and is responsible for the preparation of economic data, including economic publications for customers and various Group stakeholders.
Chris Ball Corporate Finance Partner, Russell Brennan Keane Recently appointed Partner to lead out the corporate finance activities of the firm, Chris has advised a wide range of clients on their business plans and funding through start up, growth and exit phases. Having experience of the difficulties of business survival in recent years, Chris has assisted clients and external stakeholders in devising restructuring, refinancing and shareholder exit strategies to provide for stability and growth. Chris has knowledge across a broad range of industry sectors, and has recently completed a number of sizeable sales transactions, fundraisings and refinancing.
Ronan McGivern Taxation Partner, Russell Brennan Keane A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and an AITI Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA), Ronan leads the taxation team in Dublin and has extensive experience advising clients on all areas of tax. Ronan’s expertise ranges from advising domestic owner managed businesses to quoted multinationals. He has substantial experience advising on international tax structuring issues for Irish companies looking to expand overseas and for multinationals locating in Ireland. He also advises on VAT with extensive experience advising in the context of international VAT transactions. Ronan lectures extensively for the Institute of Taxation and also holds a Certificate in VAT from the Irish Tax Institute.
