Just Spooling Around There’s something special about a spool quilt and this quilt designed by Edyta Sitar is extraordinary—but then I’ve never seen anything from Laundry Basket Quilts that I don’t like! I love how the bottom spool has fallen over and has unwound around the quilt to become the border appliqué.
Leslie is teaching the first installment of Just Spooling Around on March 9th. You’ll learn how to make the spool blocks from strip panels. It’s a good way to use up your stash, but you could also splurge and use some of the fabulous precuts in the shop. Hmmm, what about the new batik precuts? We’ve scheduled a second class to cover the appliquéd border on May 11th. Have you seen the scissors that Leslie quilted in the setting blocks? Prairie Paisley II
By Minick and Simpson for Moda Fabrics The red, whites, and indigoes of Prairie Paisley have been expanded with a new set of calicoes, paisleys, and shirting's in Prairie Paisley II It has the rich, layered look of a well loved fabric stash - 19th century prints for the home and wardrobe. This Americana grouping, like its predecessor, exemplifies rural sophistication. The second time around, Minick and Simpson have journeyed again to the turn of the last century to bring us a story of American Optimism for a modern age.
Table Runner of the Month We’re offering a different Table Runner Kit each month for the next twelve months but you don’t have to sign up for all twelve Table Runners. You pick and choose which table runners you would like to make. The first Kit will be available March12th Kits are $35 and include fabrics for the front and back of the runner plus the pattern. You can pick up the kits the Second Monday of each month. If you are certain that you want a kit, you may call the shop and reserve the kit, but we are counting on you to purchase it!
