• First sub-cut a 14" wide section. • Cut this into the strips shown. • With the remaining width (approx 28"), cut the other strips as shown.

Sewing strip sets

• G  roup strips according to strip set number. • Sew the strip sets together in the order shown. • Stitch with a short stitch length, using exact 1/4" seams.

Cutting wedges • • • •

Apply loops of tape, sticky side out, to the wedge tool to keep it from slipping on your fabric. Place the wedge on the strip set, with the ends parallel to the seams. Cut five wedges from strip set 1 and 4. Cut ten wedges from strip sets 2 and 3. This pattern is not for resale

Making the Flower

• Sew the wedges together to make the flower. • Do not press until the entire circle is assembled. • Once assembled, press from the back first, then from the front side. • Stabilize the center opening from the back with a scrap of freezer paper.

Center Applique

• Trace the pentagon shape onto freezer paper. • Make a center applique with fabric D. • Applique over the center opening.
