Small plastic butter or sour cream container, empty and washed. Double stick tape. Scissors.

GAUGE Not applicable.

INSTRUCTIONS Wrap double stick tape around outside of container. Make sure the whole outside surface is covered. Set aside. Cut 3 strands of each color yarn 72"/183cm long. Tie all 6 strands in a knot at one end. Anchor the knot by taping it to a table or closing the knot in a drawer. Separate the yarns into 3 bundles, mixing the colors for each bundle.

Begin braiding the 3 strands. When you run out of yarn, tie another knot at the end. Beginning at the bottom of the container, wrap the braid around it. Tuck the beginning knot end under the first wrap, then cut the knot off so the ends are hidden under the first row of braid. Continue wrapping around and pressing the braid against the tape until you run out of braid. Make more braids until there are enough to cover the whole container. Keep hiding the ends and removing the knots.
