Dear Parents, What a great start to the Year! Happy children, smiling parents and the Sun has been shining! New beginnings… Our New Starters in Nursery & Reception have been amazing and have settled in so well. I would like to say a very special welcome to them all. You were all brilliant and looked lovely in your new uniforms and your teachers think you have fit in just perfect. Well done! We have a fun and exciting time ahead for you and I know that you will be very happy here at Kingsway. Facebook & Twitter As already mentioned we are setting up our own Facebook and Twitter accounts. Therefore, I would be grateful if you could please fill in the permission slips (with this letter) for photograph/video recording so that we can show you all the exciting things that are happening at Kingsway. These need to be brought back tomorrow please (Wednesday 14th September). Year 6 Secondary School Visits ~ Primary Day We have just received information that Year 6 will be taking part in a Primary Day on Friday 23 rd September at Wellacre and Flixton Girls School. The theme this year will be ‘Horrible Histories’. I realise that the children will be unable to attend our own Roald Dahl day but I know they will have a great time at the Primary Day. A separate letter is attached with further details. Roald Dahl Dinner Our wonderful cook has been going Roald Dahl crazy and is going to make a ‘Whipple-Scrumptious Lunch’ on Friday 23rd September. The children will be treated to ‘Giant’s Fingers’ (Sausages), ‘Pig’s Tails’ (Curly Fries), Giant’s Corn and Mud Gravy. This will be followed by ‘Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Malteser Cake and washed down with ‘Snot Grog’. If you would like your child to experience this marvelous feast the cost will be £2.10 and then please fill in the slip below and return to school tomorrow (Wednesday 14th September) so that we can order in the correct amount of food. Friends of Kingsway Since my last letter I have had supportive parents approach me about setting up a ‘Friends of Kingsway’ group to organise fun events and fundraising for our children. The first event will be a ‘Spooky Disco’ to take place in the school hall on Monday 31st October. Further details to follow with a meeting time where you can offer us your support. So please get involved and together we can give our children so much more! Diary Date Oops! I made a mistake with the diary on some of the letters which came out last week. Please could you check and change your diaries to make sure that you know the correct day and the date we come back to school: it should be Tuesday 3rd January 2017. Thank you! It has been great to have met such positive parents each morning and I’m looking forward to working together with you all for the best of our children. Thank you for your support.
