Autumn Term ~ Newsletter 1 “We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff, volunteers and visitors to share this commitment.”
Nursery
Dear Parents, A big welcome to the new children in the Nursery; we hope they will enjoy their time with us. Thank you to parents for hosting us for the Home Visits and for our ’old’ parents’ patience with an extra few days’ holiday as a result! We are delighted that the children are settling so well and beginning to make new friends.
Friday 11th September 2015 INSET Days for this year
Clothing As Autumn and Winter are fast approaching, we would like to remind parents that the children need appropriate clothing such as coats, hats and scarves as they spend much of their time outside. As the children choose whether to be inside or outside during their session, we ask that the children have a pair of wellies to keep in school. They need to be named both on the inside and instep of the sole using a permanent marker. Please also make sure that your child’s shoes have easy fastenings - no laces please. We recommend clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty, and school sweatshirts are available to purchase from Brenda’s on the Frimley Road if you wish your child to have one; again please remember to name them. Don’t forget to bring in your child’s book bag every day and a water bottle (no squash or juice please). Home Learning The children will soon be bringing home their own ‘Sharing Book’ and a folder containing ‘Home Learning Activities’ each week on Fridays. Please keep the activities for a whole week and return on Wednesdays. It is not possible to change them on other days due to a busy curriculum.
Parent Welcome Meeting There is a very important Welcome Meeting for all Nursery parents during the week beginning 5th October - please see the ‘Important Dates’ column to the right for your child’s class date and time. The meeting will last approximately half an hour. We will be giving you information about the Nursery and it’s curriculum, and notifying you about who your child’s Key Person will be. There will also be vital information about how to apply for your child’s school place for next September - yes, already!
