Kirkland “What’s Next?” Bowlers, Young Disabled Adults, Age 18 to 39+ https://www.facebook.com/groups/waht.next/ FEBRUARY 21, 2015: Attendance include about 24 Bowlers and 36 caregivers including Kirkland Aktion Club President: Sean Mc Kibben, Vice President: Jeffrey Rohrback, & Secretary Courtney Schwartz. Kiwanis Club of Kirkland: Advisor - Darcie Cailao; helpers - Matt Gregory & Susan Lemaire, parent - Tish Evora. SERVICE: ½ hour prior spent organizing (thank you Advisor Darcie); over 2 hours collecting, assembling, packing, and loading baby care items; and ½ hour after to deliver a full cart load to Kirkland’s Hopelink that “offers an integrated array of programs that enable families in crisis to make progress toward and achieve self-sufficiency.”

SOCIAL: 1 hour bowling at TechCity Bowl, Kirkland and 1 hour dining at nearby Dairy Queen at Bridle Trails, Kirkland.

MEETING: The Kiwanis Service Leadership Program charter came for our new Kirkland Aktion Club effective Jan. 9, 2015! We are awaiting delivery of the banner and T Shirts to have official charter celebration (likely in March). Time this month totaled over an hour to schedule bowlers, post on Facebook website, and plan the next service project. At Dairy Queen, the club decided the next Service Project will be collecting activity books, color books, crayons, etc. for Ronald McDonald House; ask your employers to donate items. Jeremy and Christine are to prepare collection boxes. WHAT’S NEXT? : Meet March 21, 2015 (3rd Saturday of Month) 11:45 AM at Tech City Bowl for one hour bowling starting 12:15 PM and then one hour social at adjacent Dairy Queen; with collection of school supplies. This is a 3-2-1 club, each month doing at least 3 hours of service, 2 hours of social and 1 hour of meeting business. Prepared by MJG, KCK Sec.
