“What’s Next Bowlers”

https://www.facebook.com/groups/waht.next and http://kirkland.kiwanis.org/Page/23075 This is a 3-2-1 club for adults living with disabilities, each month doing at least 3 hours of community service, 2 hours of social interaction and 1 hour of meeting business. See: http://www.aktionclub.org/home.aspx 17 FEBRUARY 2018 ATTENDEES: Included 18 members, 18 caregivers and 2 Kiwanians including: 2017-18 Club Officers: Pres Reed McGrath, Vice Pres Jeremey Carrigan & Sec Corey Gilman. Sponsor - Kiwanis Club of Kirkland: Bowling Coordinator - Darcie Cailao & Aktion Club Advisor Matt Gregory (scribe). SERVICE: 3 hours – There was no project today due to the Presidents Day weekend and expected lower turnout. SOCIAL: 2 hours – Bowling (six lanes of three each) and lunch, plus social media time. MEETING: 1 hour - During lunch following bowling with preparation conversations beforehand. Birthdays: February – Bret Neider 36 on the 5th, Tim Bounds 39 on the 14th, Jake Simmons 29 on the 14th, and Matt Moeler 26 on the 22nd.

New Business: Dining: For those who stayed, we ordered from the Tech City Café counter and ate at same tables used during bowling. A bit noisy, but faster, better seating, and can order any time. New Bowler: Joining us today was Karley Korshaven, 33, friend of Jeremey, Andrew and Collin. Finances: We used our accumulated reserves to offer lower cost today (has varied $8-10). Next Service Project – In March, the project happens on St. Patrick’s Day. We are doing your favorite collection; Pet food & supplies for Homeward Pet Adoption Center, Woodinville. See second page for Shelter Essentials Wish List for what they need. Be sure to ask your employers and friends to contribute to this worthy cause which helps feed abandoned animals who are being readied for adoption. The traditional Irish attire would be green, but the Protestants were known to wear orange; your choice; we don’t pinch.
