Bowlers” https://www.facebook.com/groups/waht.next This is a 3-2-1 club for adults with disabilities, each month doing at least 3 hours of community service, 2 hours of social interaction and 1 hour of meeting business. See: http://www.aktionclub.org/home.aspx MARCH 19, 2016: Attendance included 17 bowling members and about 15 caregivers including - Aktion Club of Kirkland Officers: Pres. Sean McKibben and Vice Pres. - Jeffrey Rohrback. Kiwanis Club of Kirkland (sponsor): Bowling Coordinator - Darcie Cailao & Aktion Club Advisor – Matt Gregory (scribe). SERVICE: 3 hours – Members obtained from families, friends, employers, caregivers and others collected pet food for The Humane Society, http://www.seattlehumane.org. Corey Gilman and her mom Chris redirected the club to the different lanes for this week. Items were carried in to the registration table, sorted, and bagged by like kind. Darcie made a sign. Erin Keim and her mom Annette helped move the bags to the foyer to be loaded in Matt’s vehicle for him to deliver the items to the Issaquah site Tuesday March 22 in time for Easter where the club was to be complimented on the “good job”!
SOCIAL: 2 hours – 12:15-1:15 hour bowling at TechCity Bowl, Kirkland and 1:30-2:15 hour dining at nearby Dairy Queen
at Bridle Trails, Kirkland, plus social media time. MEETING: 1 hour - during lunch. 1. Service Projects: Discussion at Sean McKibben’s table led to no conclusions for April service project. Ideas? 2. Finances: $ overage collected and held from prior months was used to allow $2 reduction this time, Easter!
3. Future: TechCity Bowl expects a fee increase soon to $29 per lane. Please RSVP with Darcie so she can be most efficient with lane assignments to keep fee low. NEWS: 1. March Birthdays: 5th Jeremy Carrigan and 22nd Chandler Gordon. WHAT’S NEXT? April 16, 2015 (3rd Saturday of Month) 11:45 AM at TechCity Bowl for one-hour bowling 12:15 to 1:15 PM and then lunch meeting at adjacent Dairy Queen 1:30 to 2:15 PM.
