The site is located in the picturesque village of Braidwood in South Lanarkshire. Braidwood is located within the Clyde Valley to the south of Carluke and north west of Lanark.

The site benefits from detailed planning permission for the development of 71 dwellings within 3 phases. The application and supporting documents can be viewed on the South Lanarkshire Council Planning Portal (CL/15/0465, CL/15/0466, CL/15/0467).

Braidwood has a range of local amenities including restaurants, a post office and a well regarded local primary school. Nearby, Carluke provides access to supermarkets, a high school, sports facilities and a park and ride railway station with regular services to both Glasgow and Edinburgh. Braidwood is located 13 miles south east of Hamilton and 25 miles south east of Glasgow.

Description The site extends to approximately 10.8 acres (4.37 Ha) and is roughly rectangular in shape. It is relatively flat and falls away towards the rear of the site. The site is bounded by Lanark road to the north east and the rest of the site is surrounded by open countryside. Residential dwellings are also located on Auchenglen Road to the north west of the site. It was previously occupied by a plant nursery which has now been demolished in preparation for development on the site.

All services have now been agreed and written confirmation of this can be provided. Interested parties are encouraged to liaise directly with the South Lanarkshire Council Planning Team. Part of the site is also allocated within the 2014 Housing Land Supply under the South Lanarkshire Local Development Plan, adopted June 2015. The remainder of the site is within the rural area where Policy 3 Rural Area and Green Belt applies.
