Learning Review Meetings Wednesday 27th & Thursday 28th January 2016 3.30-8.00pm
We are changing the format of our Parents/Carers’ Consultation Evenings; they will become Learning Review Meetings. These meetings will be more focussed and will enable parents/carers to support their child(ren) more effectively at home by providing specific details related to them. During the meeting, your child’s Mathematics and English group teacher will discuss your child’s strengths and set achievable targets in Reading, Writing, Handwriting and Mathematics. Parents/carers will be given copies of these targets to take away and we would encourage you to work on these with your child at home to aid their progress. The first of these Learning Review Meetings will take place on Wednesday 27th and Thursday 28th January 2016 from 3.30-8.00pm. ALL parents/carers (including those of children in Years 5 and 6) are asked to wait in the school hall prior to their appointment, where teas and coffees will be served in return for a small donation. Meetings will take place in the classrooms, with the exception of Upper Key Stage Two for whom meetings will take place in the Eatery. The board for you to make your appointments will be available outside the school entrance (in Nursery for Ducklings and Ducks) from tomorrow (Wednesday 20th January). Please make an appointment (five minutes) with both your child’s Mathematics and English group teacher (your child should know who their teacher is). For children in Ducklings, Ducks, Owls and Robins Classes, please make one ten minute appointment as your child has the same teacher for both subjects. As the format of the meeting is designed as a discussion between teacher, parent/carer and child, we encourage you to bring your child with you but would appreciate it if arrangements could be made for pre-school children to be looked after elsewhere in order that the conversation can be as focussed and helpful as possible.
