Level and Temperature Alarm System

IM 904, Rev. 0217

Level and Temperature Alarm System:

Panel Installation:

The FC-40 monitors cisterns or reservoirs that supply the water for the fire sprinkler system. It provides continuous level and temperature information on the panel and dry contacts to connect to the fire panel monitoring system. The FC-40 is ideal for applications where there is a risk for freezing temperatures in the cistern and an alarm is required per the fire codes and standard for cisterns and sprinkler systems.

1. Caution: To maintain the NEMA 4X rating, make all wiring connections with seal tight cable grips or conduit connections. 2. Determine mounting location for control panel. Mount panel using mounting feet supplied. 3. The control panel should not be mounted in an area that is subject to submersion. 4. Run power line conductor through conduit. Wire to terminals per enclosed schematic. Branch circuit protection to be provided by installer. 5. Float cable and temperature sensor cable require separate conduit from power cable. 6. Mount float switch and temperature sensor at appropriate levels. Be sure that the float has a free range of motion to prevent entanglement.

1. All installations must be in accordance with the National Electrical Code, and any other applicable state and local electrical requirements.

Start up: 1. The LED temperature indicator on the white swing panel shall indicate the temperature of the location of the temperature sensor. Operation: 1. Lights on the front panel will illuminate under any of the following conditions: (a) Low Temperature (Below 40°F), (b) Low Level, or (c) Power Loss. Service: Caution: Before checking electrical connections within the control or attempting to replace any components, turn off all branch circuits supplying power to the main control panel.
