Appendix A

CHASSIS PACKAGING SOLUTIONS-GU7 Ever since the product changed due to the US2010 emission mandate, there has been a period of adjustment for both manufacturers and sales personnel alike. Packaging along the frame rails became a critical area of focus with the advent of the SCR. In order to make the most of our space along the frame rails, we are changing the way we do things. With the next release of MACKTRAQ, you will be configuring your GU7 orders just a little bit differently than before. Beginning with the GU7, we are about to introduce packaging solutions that will define DPF, SCR, Battery Box, and Air Tank locations as well as Fuel Tank availability with those configurations. These packages have been constructed by a team who have looked at the most requested arrangements of these items and have developed packages based on specific requirements. Those requirements are based on customer demand to optimize solutions by maximizing available frame rail space, creating more efficient layouts based on desired applications. An added benefit will be a cleaner order and quicker delivery. The packages will be presented on a Lead-in screen. Jump to PK7. Click the information icon. They will be strung together in a single document to give you a view of how each package changes as you move from page to page. The lead-in screen allows you to choose from 4 different categories:  Single Fuel Tank or Isolated RH tank  Dual Fuel Tanks  Clear Back of Cab  Twin Steer After you’ve chosen the type of package you need, you will be directed to a screen with those individual packaged PID codes. Each PID code will have a graphic representation of the left and right sides of your chosen package. It will contain the detailed and important dimensions relating to fuel tank to Back of Cab (BOC) and typical Air Dryer and Air Tank locations for any chosen PK7. Click on the icon next to the PID code. The file displayed will be a graphic representation of the package you have chosen. Page 1 contains left and right side-by-sides of the vehicle with fuel tank dimensions, DPF, SCR, Battery Box and Air Tank locations. Page 2 gives you an overhead view and left and right ¾ rear views. We are certain this tool will give us a competitive edge when it comes to specing a truck and providing the packages you require the most.
