SWA provided concept design through design development for this 66-hectare open-air mall, which offers a retail experience of stark contrast to the tight and narrow streets of Egypt’s traditional souks and bazaars. The design and layout of the buildings allow for maximum flexibility in circulation and views, promoting exploration and ensuring that every visit to the site is unique. Within the interior core of the mall is a lush 6-hectacre park that includes a large lake surrounded by flowering shade trees. This park offers waterside restaurant dining, shaded garden paths, art, cafés, and fountains. Family areas feature sculptural berms, carousels, and a garden maze, and raised garden plinths offer shoppers shaded seating with park views.
