The Marlin class is full of amazing, curious, and kind students this year! Over the past two weeks, we have been going over expectations and procedures to help our school year be successful. Our students have also been hard at work doing their best on their assessments for placement in our curriculum and they can’t wait to begin their jobs. They will be using their work plans and work binders during our regular work time cycle. Students will also be completing their STAR Math and STAR Reading Assessments this week which will give us a baseline for their current reading and math levels. We are beginning cultural rotations this week as we explore Botany, Zoology, History and Geography. It will be a very eventful week for our Marlin class! Thank you for joining us for our Back to School Night. It was so wonderful seeing you all again and we are looking forward to a great school year! If you were unable to make it, I sent home some forms, including our Back to School Night Parent Orientation Packet. It can also be found on the Marlin class webpage on the CMP-Carmichael website, http://cm.cacmp.org/marlin . Thank you!
Parent Clearances Please remember that parents who would like to volunteer to work directly with children must have the CMP required clearances: Live Scan finger printing, TB test, and attendance at the “7 Habits of Highly Effective Volunteers” presentation. If you would also like to drive on fieldtrips, please complete the necessary requirements found in your participation packets: TB test, Live Scan finger printing, Driver History Report, and copies of driver’s license and proof of insurance ($100,000/$300,000). Please get these in to Maggie ASAP!
“Our care of the child should be governed, not by the desire to make him learn things, but by the endeavor always to keep burning within him that light which is called intelligence.” -Maria Montessori
