Marlin Class Newsletter October 24, 2016 8/20: Event

Ms. Shelby & Ms. Esther [email protected] 971-2430 class ext. #150

I really appreciate all of you taking time out of your busy schedules to meet with me at our conferences. It was such a pleasure getting to share your child’s progress so far this school year! B Street Theatre permission slips are due this Friday. We would love for you to join us on this trip, but we can only take 8 parents with us as space is limited. If you are able to drive or chaperone, please make sure you turn in the permission slip as soon as possible to reserve a seat! In our curriculum last week, the 1st graders worked with the teens board, the 2nd graders were introduced to the subtraction snake game and the 3rd graders worked on story problems in Math. In Language, the 1st graders studied the short /o/ sound with the moveable alphabet, 2nd graders practiced writing varying sentences with periods, question marks and exclamation marks, and 3rd graders reviewed irregular plural endings. In Geometry, we studied different types of lines including straight, curved, broken, mixed, and serpentine lines. During our Literacy Block in the afternoon, students wrote about their goals for the school year.

Volunteers are needed for our two Harvest Festival activities, the Penny Toss and Lollipop Tree. If you are interested, please sign up for a time slot under the “Volunteer” tab at http://cmpcarmichael.my-pta.org/. Thank you!

“Respect all the reasonable forms of activity in which the child engages and try to understand them.”
