Football Participation.
• There is no better
game! Character, life-skills, teamwork, etc.
• But, participation
can be a risk, MHSAA rules state: Participation in football can cause injury.
• Solutions: Diet,
sleep, weight training, pre-hab— summer workouts! See schedule. Summer sports are no excuse…
Requirements for participation • MUST have athletic physical on file in athletic office! • MUST have consent form on file in athletic office! • MUST have participation fee paid (revtrak-HS page after July 1st)
• ALL THREE ARE NON-NEGOTIABLE!! Must be done ASAP-All forms(consent/physical)found on HS athletics/activities website.
Communication “ladder” • Player to coach/Parent to coach

administrator
• PLEASE ASK! Never Assume.....we avoid problems
• Injury progression:
Coach-trainer-doctor: Why?-records, peace of mind...no return w/out clearance.
• Team First. “putting WE before me”.
Ie-uniforms, gear, focus is on the TEAM.
• Bullying/Hazing-NOT OKAY.
Build up, not break down. WE are a team.(cell phones/social media/conversations)...
• Eligibility: Must be passing 5 of 6 classes.
• Attendance: In school, all day.
Period. If absence can’t be helped, it must be approved by admin...
• Vacation Time: Unexcused
absence if school in session. After Aug. 7th, it will affect PT
• Be good people-When in doubt,
do the right thing. Attitude and Effort are all we can control.
