It’s that time of year again and we want to thank you for registering for the 2013/2014 hockey season!
Check back often for new information, dates and updates.
Whether you are a Mite parent or a seasoned Bantam parent this time of year brings with it anticipation and excitement!
On behalf of the MAYRA Board of Directors, all Volunteer Coordinators, and the Mora Civic Center Management, we welcome you and are looking forward to a great season of hockey!
The MAYRA website is new and improved for 2013!
VOLUNTEER POSITIONS MAYRA was founded and built based on volunteerism within our community. Some things change over time, but the need for volunteers does not.
concession stand will become a profit center once again for MAYRA. In the past we have generated a great deal of income. However, in recent years the income level has dropped substantially because hours were not being filled. Please make sure to read through the “Concession Stand and Volunteer Information” Sheet attached to this email or on our website.
MAYRA HOCKEY MINUTE
TIME OUT FOR A...
OUTDOOR CLEAN UP DAYS MAYRA will be hosting two outdoor clean up days in September. If you are able to help paint, clean, and/or make small repairs to the warming house, outdoor rinks and Civic Center we welcome your help.
OTHER WAYS TO VOLUNTEER As a reminder there are other ways to volunteer as well. Not all positions are point eligible, however it is still important to fill these positions.
The dates for the clean up are: Saturday, September 14th beginning at 8 a.m. and Saturday, September 21st beginning at 8 a.m. An hour or two of your time is appreciated. Please email us a

We are still looking for a few volunteers to fill Coordinator positions. Volunteer Coordinator, Scheduling Coordinator, Recruitment & Retention Coordinator, In‐House Referee Coordinator, Indoor Mite Jamboree Coordinator, Sponsorship/Grant Coordinator.

FUNDRAISING RAFFLE CALENDARS
HEGGIES PIZZA!
The Calendar Raffle fundraiser is an important part of the overall success of MAYRA. Each player is required to sell five (5) calendars. You MUST turn in the money (cash or check), the prize drawing slip and any unsold tickets prior to the November 30th deadline.
This is a new fundraiser this year! Who doesn’t love a Heggie’s pizza?! This fundraiser helps you as well as our organization.
You will be rewarded for selling more raffle calendars! For every 5 raffle calendars you sell over and above your required 5 per player, you will get $25 off this year’s registration fees.
If you need to pick up your calendars, would like to sell more please or have other questions, please contact the MAYRA Gambling Manager, Jinx Greski at Ph. (320) 679‐4830.
Dates for Fall Sales are: August 14th – October 6th *All orders need to be returned with payment no later than October 6th in the blue MAYRA drop box in the Mora Civic Center.
Pizza Pick Up Date: Wednesday, October 23rd
For each pizza you sell you will be credited $2 to offset 2013/2014 hockey fees; remaining profits (approximately $2 per pizza) goes back to MAYRA.

PRE‐SKATES & TRY OUT DATES Attention Squirts, Peewee, and Bantam, players! Mark your calendar for and plan to be at the rink on these dates for your pre‐skates and try outs: *exact times will be sent to you. Pre‐Skate Dates/Times: Saturday, September 21st 8 a.m. – 3:20 p.m. Sunday, September 22nd 8 a.m. – 3:20 p.m.
Try Out Dates/Times: Saturday, September 28th 8 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Sunday, September 29th 8 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. All practices and try‐outs will be held at the Isanti Ice Arena.
Reminder to all parents that the try out process is a closed event. Parents are not allowed into the building at any time during the try out process. There will be a team of volunteers/coaches and association board members assisting skaters in the locker rooms and on the ice. If at any time your player needs to contact you one of the volunteers or coaches will contact you.
Please be at the rink at least 30 minutes prior to your scheduled try out time. You will be assigned specific locker rooms and they will be posted at the rink.

Equipment hand out dates are listed below! Please plan on being at the rink for at least 30 minutes to pick up your equipment. Practice’s will begin for all returning Mite players on Saturday, October 12th from 12 p.m. – 1:15 p.m. Evaluations for all Mites wishing to be evaluated (playing at the C or B Mite level) will be held on, Saturday, October 26th. EQUIPMENT INFORMATION Equipment hand out dates for Mite players will be as followed: Sunday, September 22nd 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 25th 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. Saturday, October 5th 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. MAYRA provides equipment to ALL Mite players. A deposit of $100 is required at time of pick up and will be returned to you when your equipment is returned at the end of the season. If you lose a piece of equipment it is your responsibly to pay for a replacement piece.
Equipment provided is as follows: Bag, breezers, knee/shin pads, elbow pads, helmet, chest protector, socks, practice jersey and game jersey.
