HOME GAMES IN BOLD *denotes

The Cardinals lift the lid on their 2017 campaign today under first-year head coach Jason Griffiths. Otterbein, which missed out on the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Tournament by one game a year ago, was 8-7-3 overall in 2016 and returns a solid cast of players along with its incoming class. The Cards have been chosen to finish fifth in this season’s OAC preseason poll. Senior Jaden Lunger, who was voted the OAC Co-Defensive Player of the Year last fall, headlines the Cardinal defense along with sophomore goalkeeper Collin Hoffmann, as the team posted the third-best defense in the league en route to seven shutouts a year ago. Offensively, the Cards also return their top-seven scorers from last season, most notably senior Nate Norris who is coming off All-OAC recognition after a 10-point campaign in which he netted four goals and assisted twice. Sophomore Tiger Pham, the team’s other all-conference honoree in 2016, will also be a major factor bringing versatility to the midfield. La Roche enters today having been chosen to finish fourth in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) preseason poll, coming off a 10-8-2 performance in 2016. The Redhawks are led by junior Ximo Vicent, who paced the team in points, goals and assists a year ago. Sophomore Austin Gorman also returns in goal for the Hawks, who finished third in the AMCC in defense last season.
