Good Ground School Community Garden
Located at the Hampton Bays Middle School National Green Ribbon Recognition School We are a GREEN –LEEDS certified school Beginning our second season this May Filled with over 25 garden beds for growing fresh fruit, herbs, and vegetables Our members include Hampton Bays’ teachers, students, restaurant owners, gardeners, and people who just love eating healthy, organic food without the chemicals, additives, or high prices We work in collaboration with the Family Health and Wellness Program Area of Cornell Cooperative Extension of Suffolk County through their NYSDOH grant funded program, Creating Healthy Places in Suffolk County.” We are members of the East End Edible Schoolyard Group and work with other school districts in developing garden curriculum for our students We donate food to local food pantries Our future plans include the installation of a compost system and a greenhouse If interested or just want more information email us [email protected] or [email protected]
