National Youth Day Competition 2017, to Groom the Youth to be Responsible Citizens

Dear Sir / Madam, Namaste. January 12, the Birthday of Swami Vivekananda will be celebrated as National Youth Day in a grand manner. ‘Sri Ramakrishna Vijayam’, the Tamil monthly magazine of the Math which has a circulation of 1,70,000 copies has been conducting the National Youth Day competition for the last 14 years. The topic chosen for the competition of the year 2017 was ‘Do Something Heroic’. About 43,000 youth from 410 schools, 30 colleges and others from Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry participated in this competition. The questions placed before the participants included ‘What is your contribution to your home, school, college and society?’ The answers exhibited patriotism and sense of social responsibility. The responses reflected both disillusionment and expectations of Swami Vivekananda. The awareness generated among the youth has resulted in their getting recharged with renewed enthusiasm. The society is certain to be benefited by this development. The prizes to the winners will be distributed during the function on Thursday, 12th January 2017. All offerings and donations will be gratefully accepted and are eligible for exemption under Sec. 80(G) of IT Act. Devotees are requested to give their email address to the Math office to facilitate sending of invitations through email.
