Newport Mesa Girls Softball League 2016 All Star Commitment Letter Dear Parents, Post-season play is a very rewarding experience, but also a very demanding one. It requires commitment from both the player and her family. Please be aware this involves: Practice Commitment – 3 to 5 practices per week in May and June. Practices can typically last two to three hours. Team Commitment – between 4 to 5 tournaments for the 8U, 10U and 12U All Star teams taking place in May and June. Tournaments are played in San Diego, Rancho Santa Margarita, San Juan Capistrano, Carlsbad and Irvine. Tournament play can begin as early as Friday afternoon and continue into Sunday. There can be as many as 3 to 4 games per day. There may be back-to-back games or long gaps between games. All Star teams are competitive teams and the “fair play” rule does not apply. Managers will place the girls as he/she feels best benefits the team. It is possible that your daughter may not play in a game or tournament. Parents are asked to set a positive atmosphere with strong support for the team managers, coaches, players, and parents. Parents agree to abide by the NMGS Code of Conduct. If your child is chosen to represent NMGS in the All Star season, the league will pay for all tournament and uniform costs. A refundable deposit check will be required as a means of protecting the league and their investment, should the family and/or player not fulfill their commitment to the practice and/or game schedule. The league is committed to forming the best teams possible that will have the greatest opportunity for success. NMGS attempts to keep the teams small to increase playing time, but players and families need to be aware this is competitive tournament play and some girls may not get much playing time. All participating families are expected to attend practice and tournaments, regardless of play time. Each player will receive one complete uniform including shirt, pants, socks, visor, batting helmet and equipment bag.

Eligibility: We verify that ___________________________ (player name) has not participated in any way on any softball team outside of Newport Mesa Girls Softball League since Jan 1st, 2016. I understand that if this information is found to be false, the entire All Star team may become ineligible for play and that our family will be ineligible for any further participation with Newport Mesa Girls Softball League.
