NEWS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Painting a Brighter Future for Artists at Kimberly High School Kimberly, Wis. – January 11, 2016 – A surprise donation arrived at Kimberly High School (KHS) just in time for the holidays – about a ton of professional artist grade acrylic paint arrived on several pallets from the Jack Richeson & Co., Inc. Art teacher Miki Wise is grateful for the donation to the school’s art department and sees first-hand how the high quality paint will help students reach their potential in the arts. “These paints and other supplies will really benefit the great number of Kimberly High School students who study art,” said

Students will be able to use higher quality supplies as they learn art techniques thanks to a donation by Jack Richeson & Co, Inc.

Wise.

Angela Douglas, senior at Kimberly High School, with a self-portrait she created in Miki Wise’s watercolor class.

Now in her senior year at KHS, Angela Douglas has studied a variety of art subjects and has an interest in pursuing fashion design or interior design after she -more-

graduates. She has recognized the increase in the number of students taking art classes during her high school career. “I feel like each year there are more and more artistic people that come in, and I don’t know what influences that, but I feel like there’s just a lot more artsy people as the years progressed,” said Douglas. As for those pallets full of professional grade art supplies, she knows they’ll be put to good use. “I feel like the donated art supplies are an even better quality, so I think that in the future, students will be able to create even better artwork.” Hannah Uhlenbrauck, a junior at KHS, has taken several art classes and already has more lined up for next semester, including 3D art and oil painting. “I think the donated supplies are going to give everyone an opportunity to get better with our art because we’re having good supplies to work with,” said Uhlenbrauck. “It makes a world of difference when you have really good art supplies.”

Hannah Uhlenbrauck, a junior, is currently working on this watercolor at Kimberly High School.

The donation enhances what the art department’s budget could provide in painting supplies. “As everyone knows, school budgets have limits and this huge donation presents us with an opportunity to do even more than we currently do,” said Wise. “We appreciate Kimberly High School art teachers Miki Wise and Heather Schaefer pictured with the paint donated by Jack Richeson & Co., Inc.

this wonderful gift so much.”
