@Thrumptonpri September 16th 2016 A super start to the term with a great learning atmosphere around school. We'd like to say a big welcome to our new pupils who have joined us in Foundation and also Louie, Harley and Matthew who have joined us in other year groups this year. Don't forget to check the website to see the planned learning on the class pages. Catherine Thornton Congratulations! Well done Mrs Nicholson! What an achievement from starting as a volunteer at Thrumpton! She is now a fully qualified Teaching Assistant working in Kids Club We're very proud :)

Wow! Jasper in Year 2 on the pitch with Manchester City. What a fantastic experience and what a credit to Thrumpton!

MacMillan Coffee Morning We will be holding a MacMillan Coffee Morning in school on Friday 30th September starting at 8.45am. All children are invited to bring an adult to enjoy a cuppa, slice of cake & a natter! Donations of cakes & biscuits welcome. Looking forward to seeing you all & raising funds for this fantastic cause.

Thank You! Mrs Bell, the full time Foundation staff & our Midday Supervisors would like to say a HUGE ‘thank you’ to all the Year 6 children for being fabulous ‘buddies’ to the little ones & helping them settle in during their first few weeks of full time school. You’ve all been very kind, caring & thoughtful & a real credit to the school.

Thrumpton's Got Talent We are going to be running our successful talent competition again this term. Auditions will be held before half term followed by our show after half term so we need our talented pupils to get practicing! Singing, dancing, poetry reading, comedy or instrument playing in fact any talent welcome!

Well Done F2! A massive ‘well done’ to all the F2 children for settling in so well. Mrs Bell & Mrs Ardren are very proud of you all. Unfortunately there have been a few cases of head lice spotted on our new full timers so please would parents carefully check their children's heads over the weekend & treat accordingly if anything is found lurking!

Idle Valley - Course Opportunities Attached to this newsletter is a leaflet showing four wonderful courses to be run at Idle Valley. If you are in receipt of a means tested benefit then you can enrol for free! One of the courses also provides a free crèche place for your little one/s.

Cool Milk Reminder - All children in school can receive a carton of milk every day. If they are under 5 they can get this for free! BUT whether paid or free you need to register your child via the Cool Milk website

www.coolmilk.com or using one of the leaflets in the foyer at the main entrance to school.

Plea From Foundation There have been a few incidents of the gate to Foundation being left open by parents as they drop off their children. To keep your children safe, please ensure you close the gate behind you.

Money Reminder May we remind all parents if sending ANY money into school please ensure it is in a named envelope stating the amount & what it is for. There are a pile of money envelopes near to the office in the main entrance. Office staff can no longer accept loose money handed through the window. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

Would you all please ensure that if you must take your child on a holiday in term time that you give us adequate notice of this either by writing a quick letter or email addressed to Mrs Thornton stating the dates your child will be absent from school and the reasons why this must be in term time. Ideally you should give us as much notice as possible. Our email address is [email protected] If you have any attendance related queries, please pop in or telephone us & speak to Mrs Allen in the office. Remember good attendance means your child has the best possible chance of achieving their full potential in their academic work and maintaining good friendships with their peers.
