Welcome to this special weekend where we acknowledge 100 years since the old Lower Hutt Corps commenced. Our Corps was birthed from the amalgamation some 17 years ago with Lower Hutt, Petone, NaeNae and Wainuiomata and would eventually be a new entity known as the Hutt City Corps. It has been interesting looking back at the history and seeing the various names of people who helped make that happen. Many of them have moved on to greener pastures but their fingerprints by way of their influence and investment of time, talents and treasure remain. We are grateful for the way the baton has been passed down and seek to be responsible to ensure that the work and influence of the Salvation Army carries on for the sake of God and His Kingdom.

Dear Sponsor, I hope you had a great Easter time, God bless you. I want to tell you that I started school and I am in 9th grade, God is working in my life and I hope he continues to do so. I am also in this adolescents program, where we learn how to cook, clean, do art, etc. I also got to travel to Ciudad Del Este and I met the waterfalls of Brazil. The Captain bought us new beds and they changed the rooms, I can say this year is going to be a blessed one and I hope yours too. From Veronica
(Veronica is 14,She lives at the Childrens Home, Her father died after a long illness, she has 2 brothers and 1 sister.) Dear Sponsor,
We are excited to announce that after many hours of research and hard work, mainly by Jamie Houston and a few others, that our new website is now up and running. It has a calendar with all our scheduled events and regular happenings, you can access our weekly newsletters and even listen to our Sunday messages. There may still be a few details to iron out but I encourage you to check it out and save it (bookmark it) with your 'favourites'. We will endeavour to keep the information up to date, which you will appreciate is no mean feat. Please advise us if you find any glaring mistakes or omissions. You can access it by going here:

We’ve started this New Year with big challenges here in Paraguay, we have lots of ideas to make this a better year for the kids and we have faith that everything we do in the Lord’s name will work out. We thank God for all the help we receive from you and we know you do it in a selfless way and with the only purpose of helping the kids develop. In educational area we’ve made lots of change, the kids that have graduated in 2013 with the best grades and that are in their third cycle of the educational system, have the possibility of entering a school with a higher educational level, the rest of the kids changed schools, looking to improve their education quality so that their future would be more productive to them and the society. We take this opportunity to update some of the information about Veronica. She’s struggling with the usual adolescent problems, sadly she doesn’t show that much interest in her studies, she currently has to retake some classes from next year to pass the year. Despite this she is a very good leader with the little kids; she organizes and gives the devotionals with the other kids at the Children’s home. In this very important time when we remember God’s victory that saved us, we bless your life and hope you are filled with love and prosperity.
Happy Easter, Marcelo Chamorro - …….Children’s Home.
