COACH SILL Frank Sill is entering his 17th season as head coach of the Neumann Golf Team for the 2016-17 season.

2016-17 SEASON PREVIEW The Neumann University men’s golf team returns for the 2016-17 season after finishing last season as the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Runner-Up. The Knights held the lead after day one of the CSAC tournament, but were overtaken on day two by Marywood University who went on to win the title. Returning this season for the Knights are senior Pat McCann, and sophomores Joe Mitchell and John Rogers. Mitchell returns after finishing 6th at the CSAC Championship last season, good for second-team All-CSAC honors. McCann is back after a 12th place effort at the conference tournament last season. Rogers will be asked to provide depth to a young team. Joining the squad this season are newcomers Brendan Boas and Justin Howe. Neumann begins its season with the Swarthmore/Neumann Fall Invitational at Rock Manor Golf Club in Wilmington, Delaware on September 25th.
A state-of-the-art facility that serves as home to the university’s 22 NCAA teams. The men’s and women’s basketball teams and the volleyball team play home games in the main gymnasium, which seats approximately 1,200 spectators. The 72,000-square-foot building includes a grand foyer with impressive exhibits that feature five themes that connect sports to the Franciscan tradition: Play, Respect, Beauty, Balance and Reflection. The Mirenda Center houses the “Institute for Sport Spirituality and Character Development®”, the Athletic Department and a fully equipped fitness center and cardio room.
Bruder Athletic Fields The Bruder Athletic Fields are located in close proximity to the Mirenda Center and the residence halls. The men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s lacrosse and field hockey teams play on a lighted turf field that has seating for more than 400 fans. The Bruder baseball and softball fields were renovated for the 2013 season with seating for fans, press boxes and spacious dugouts.
Ice Works Ice Works of Aston, a 1,000 seat facility one mile from campus, serves as home for the men’s and women’s ice hockey teams. IceWorks has four ice surfaces, a full-service restaurant and bar, full-service pro shop, arcade and banquet/party rooms. The ice hockey teams have their own private locker rooms while the coaches have an office available at the rink.
Ethel Sergeant Clark Smith Memorial Courts The men’s and women’s tennis teams play on the lighted Ethel Sergeant Clark Smith Fund Memorial Courts. The complex holds four courts.
At the 2015-16 CSAC Championship. The Knights placed second overall. Brandon Gagne won the individual medal with a two-day score of 145, just one over par. For the second straight season, Gagne was also named the Philadelphia Inquirer Men’s Golf Academic All-Area Performer of the Year. The Knights finished third at the CSAC Championship during the 2014-15 season. Gagne was finished second overall and earned first team All-Conference honors. During the 2013-14 season, the Knights finished fourth overall at the CSAC Championship. Gagne was named first team All-Conference as he finished fifth in the overall standings. In 2012-13 Neumann placed sixth at the CSAC Championship. The Knights won the CSAC championship in the 2011-2012 season, the first for the program. Neumann represented the CSAC at the NCAA Tournament. Senior Chris Donohue putted out on the 18th hole to secure victory, as the Knights marked their first trip to the NCAA tournament, which was held in Howie-in-the-Hills, Florida. Donohue finished second overall and made first team All-CSAC, Ryan Dreger joined Donohue on the first team, while Bruce Bandos made second team All-Conference. Coach Sill has revitalized the program with enthusiasm and a true love for the game. Coach Sill has the Knights practicing hard, playing with intensity and consistently displaying integrity and good sportsmanship on and off the course. He feels if the team does this, they are winners in every match! This philosophy has paid off for coach Sill with five second place finishes in the PAC and a second place finish in the CSAC while winning the 2011-12 CSAC Championship. Coach Sill owns and operates Ogden Supply Company in Chichester, Pa. He is very active in his community and currently resides in Boothwyn, Pa. He is a member of Chichester Rotary and a founding member of the Chichester Historic Society; he is also a member of the Brandywine Country Club. Coach Sill’s awards include Rotary International's Paul Harris Fellow and Governor's Citation for Community Service.
