CANDIDATE STATEMENTS Erc ANGELO As a born and bred Northlander, a successful Chartered Accountant, professional Director and Trustee, I have the acumen and experience to continue to work on your behalf; your community in Whangarei, and all surrounding Districts of the Northpower Network. Specific skills are required for this role. As the current Chairperson of the Northpower Trust and as Deputy Chairperson of The Energy Trusts of NZ, I recognise implicitly the need for an innate knowledge of Trustee stewardship, law, integrity and dedication – not only for Northpower consumer beneficiaries, but also for future consumers moving into our region. A critical Trustee priority is continually protecting the interests of all consumer beneficiaries and listening to, and acting on, consumers concerns. Other critical priorities are ensuring robust consultation with consumers regarding five yearly ownership reviews (due in 2017), along with appointing the best possible Directors to the Board of your Company - Northpower.
Murray BROADBELT Place Northpower in safe hands with leadership and experience you can trust. Northpower is your taonga. You are both consumers and shareholders. This is your valuable asset which must be protected. As your Trustee, I will safeguard your interests by bringing years of leadership and governance experience. Currently I am on the Board of Trustees for Northland’s Rescue Helicopters and the $1.2billion Foundation North community trust, which grants approximately $40million to Northland and Auckland communities. My commitment to you, through governance and oversight, is to ensure Northpower’s profitability, continuation of line holidays and credits off your power account. Allowing Northpower to uphold high standards of safety, quality and innovation and to appoint top-class Directors, will lead your Company into the future. Place Northpower in safe hands. Elect Murray Broadbelt.

Ross PROVAN
Born in Whangarei, I am a passionate, committed Northlander, committed to work for regional good. I have managed and owned successful building, joinery and hightech timber processing export operations spanning 45 years – influential for trade training numerous young Northland apprentices. The trustees’ role and performance has a profound influence on the protection and enhancement of Northpower’s shareholder interests. As an elected member of the NEPT I believe I have firmly proven my ability in this important governance position. Northpower’s strategic growth and technological advancement requires responsible governance to enhance and protect your shareholder interests through sound business acumen. And a well considered approach to future growth possibilities. Northpower is a unique company which you – the connected electricity consumers of Whangarei and Kaipara – own. It is a mature, capable, diversified international business that employs, trains and promotes Northlanders, while distributing profits to its consumer shareholders in Kaipara and Whangarei.
