Networking with local outdoor shops and manufacturer reps to ensure that they have NWAC materials to distribute and are educating customers about NWAC. Generating support from local companies in the form of product or cash donations.

Compensation and time commitment The ambassador position is intended to be carried out “on the side”. It is not a substitute for full or even part time employment. You won’t get rich. However, the ambassador will be compensated on a commission basis and will keep 10% of all funds raised at events as well as 10% of membership dues from any NWAC members who join from the Portland area during the time of employment. The time commitment will be largely determined by the ambassador. The more you put into it, the more you will get out. We would expect a commitment of roughly 20 hours/month averaged over the fall and winter. The ambassador will be provided with NWAC logo wear including an Outdoor Research jacket for outdoor events and will have access to pro discount pricing available to NWAC employees. This is a fun job! You go to fun events, meet cool people, get into ski and ride movies for free and often get free beer.
