We have all enjoyed the non-uniform day and cake sale with the Year 6s commenting that running a cake sale is not as easy as the PTFA make it look! Thank you also to Upottery Toddler Group for donating their left over cakes to our cake sale. So far we have raised £172.05 so a big thank you!

From this coming week we are adding a number of activities to lunchtimes. School Council raised the idea that they would like more opportunities at lunchtimes for clubs. As a school we are aware that during the winter months lunchtimes need some indoor activities and the field is still great for football etc. as long as the children have appropriate footwear and coats. Indoor Club: will take place in Falcon classroom, the children will be able to draw, play cards and use board games etc. Field Friday: The children will be able to play on the school field even if it is muddy as long as it is not raining. They will need to bring in wellies or a spare pair of trainers and a coat (not a fleece if it is wet). They must have a bag to put them back into. They will only be allowed on the field if they have their coat and footwear! Mrs Yallop & School Council Reminders: 

Please return the Peter Pan reply slip to school as soon as possible.

Footballers of the week: Alfie Lloyd and Olly Morris Cross Country Runners Wow-eee, Wednesday was the second race of the Stockland x-country season and we took 15 committed runners, who were faced with mud, rain and an air of anticipation as the course was grim and challenging! Not one grumble as our runners peeled off their waterproofs and lined up. Our Year 3&4 girls did us proud, Alice sprinted for a top 10 position out of 80 girls with Tia hot on her heels, Bebe and Ruby smiled through the rain, as did our strong boys. Ben Matthews overtook 2 lads at the end to get his deserved 4th, Matthew M, Matthew S and Benjamin all battled for superb positions. For Year 5&6 Grace ran like a born runner coming 9th followed rapidly by Jess & Mia. Jack was knocked unsteady, but got up and fought back with his gift of determination for 10th. Our Jake brought home the medal with a plucky 3rd place, with Alistair and Harry both finishing in the top 20. They were all inspiring to us wet cold spectators and running against county talent; this why they are a gift to the school’s sporting success. Nicki Dowson
