Every year, the baseball team does extensive work with the Miracle League of Tuscaloosa. Last week, the guys went to Sokol Park to be a part of the final fall weekend of games for the League. There, they helped set up helmets and bats in preparation for the games, encouraged the kids and helped them run bases, and stayed to hand out medals to all of the Miracle League participants. The guys had a blast with the kids! The baseball team will also have 2 “Miracle League Day at The Joe” games during the Spring season where the participants will be able to go on the field before the game and stand with the players during the National Anthem. Roll Tide, Bama Baseball! ______________________________________

CJ Mosley made a visit to one of Tuscaloosa's PARA youth flag football games where he spent an evening with the participants and shared a few words of encouragement with them in time for their playoff games next week.

The kids were thrilled to see CJ and thankful for his time. Way to represent for BAMA football!

October 24, 2013 The women’s basketball team has been very active in the community this semester. Most recently, senior Nikki Hegstetter spent some time reading to a class at Skyland Elementary. The team has also been heavily involved with many other city and county schools in alignment with their annual 5th Grade Fastbreak game, which is set to be played on December 17. So far, the ladies have visited Skyland, Westwood, Arcadia, and Huntington Place Elementary schools. Check out everything they have been up to!

This week, the SPE 100 class went to Crossing Points on campus. Crossing Points is a 2-year transitional program for 18-20 year olds with disabilities. The program teaches students fundamental life skills including decision making skills and interviewing, and also helps students ensure success by helping them secure a job upon completion of the program. The SPE100 students talked, danced, and paired up with the Crossing Points students to work on several activities on their iPads. Crossing Points visits are always a good time with lots of fun personalities!
