Dear Dance Team Candidate, We are so happy that you are interested in auditioning for the Pantherettes Halftime Dance Team! Please read all of the information in this packet carefully so you will be prepared for the audition process. At the clinics, you will learn one routine and the mandatory technique required for the tryouts. Final auditions will be held on Saturday, May 17th in the Dance Room. It is important that you attend all clinic days. However, if you have any conflicts with the schedule, please let one of the coaches know as soon as possible. You will learn the result of your audition on Monday, May 19th during a face-to-face meeting with the coaches. The time of your meeting will be assigned during the audition clinics.
Tryout Schedule: Audition Clinics: Tuesday May 13th-Friday May 16th 4:00-6:00 PM OHS Fieldhouse Final Audition: Saturday, May 17th Starting at 9 AM Audition times will be assigned during audition clinics OHS Dance Room
Dance Skills Workshop (Optional) May 7th & 8th 5:30-7:30 PM OHS Fieldhouse $10 fee per dancer No pre-registration required
Before Tryouts: 1) Register on the OHS Athletics website: (http://il.8to18.com/oswego/) **Please note: the athletic user fee does not need to be paid until after you have made the team. 2) Read through the Pantherettes Dance Team Standards & Expectations Contract. This can be found at www.OHSPantherettes.weebly.com. 3) Complete an IHSA Participation Examination (Physical). This can be found at www.OHSPantherettes.weebly.com. If you have participated in a sport this year, your current school probably has one on file. A copy of your current physical MUST be turned in to the athletic office prior to the first clinic date.
What to Wear to Auditions:
For Clinics: Clothes you can move in! o Jazz pants/leggings, capris, shorts o Tanks, short-sleeved fitted shirts, leotards (solid colors best; avoid busy patterns) o Jazz shoes or gym shoes o No bare midriffs, no baggy clothes, no sweats, no bare feet or stocking feet For Final Audition: o Same as above but solid BLACK clothing only o Hair should be pulled back and off of your face
Commitment: If you are chosen to be a member of the 2014-2015 Pantherettes Halftime Dance Team you will be expected to attend the following:
Summer practices will be held Monday nights from 5-8pm Mandatory summer camp July 28-Aug 1 at Thompson Jr. High (9am-12pm) Youth Mini Camp June 9-12 (9-11am) Mandatory practices during the school year will be 2 days a week after school Pantherfest - 8/22 Football home game performances Additional performances as needed (pep rallies, school/community functions)
If you are chosen to be a member of the Halftime Dance Team you should expect that you will have the following costs during the halftime season (includes $100 fee for summer camp):
Athletic User Fee: $25 New Members: $350-$400 Returning Members: $150-200
