PARTICIPANT INSTRUCTIONS RACE 1 - WEDNESDAY, 05 FEBRUARY, 2014 MELBOURNE ZOO, BRENS OVAL, ROYAL PARK 3.6KM RUN (1 LAP) - 6:50PM | 7.2KM RUN (2 LAPS) - 7:15PM | 3.6KM/7.2KM WALK - 7:20PM Congratulations, you have entered Race 1 of the 2014 Sunset Series presented by Brooks. The event commences at Brens Oval, Royal Park.

n PUBLIC TRANSPORT Royal Park train station is the main access to the assembly area from Flinders Street Station. Tram 55 also runs to Royal Park from the city. Go to Public Transport Victoria website: http://ptv.vic.gov.au/ for timetable information for trains and trams.

n SERIES ENTRANTS IMPORTANT: Please remember to keep your race bib for all three races. If you lose/misplace your race bib, a $5 fee will be charged. n RACE KIT COLLECTION All entries received before 11:59 PM Monday, 27 January 2014 can collect their race kits from Running Fit, 170 Queen St Melbourne CBD, from Friday, 31 January 10.00am – until Tuesday 4 Feb 6:00pm. All Deluxe Series Entrants will be able to collect their Brooks event T-shirt from Running Fit as well. Those who choose not to pick up from Running Fit will be able to collect their race kit on day at the event from the Number Pick Up

n CAR PARKING Parking is available at the Melbourne Zoo carpark off Elliott Avenue. Parking is free after 5:00pm. n ON DAY ENTRIES On day entries are accepted on the event evening at the Entries marquee. Cost $45 adults, $33 Concession, $26 children, . Prices are for the single event only. NO REFUNDS. n WAVE STARTS There will be two wave starts for the 4km runners, and three wave starts for the 8km runners. n TIMING The Sunset Series, presented by Brooks, will be using the Ipico timing system. The shoe tag must be attached to your shoe using the ties provided in the race kit. This device will be activated once ®

PARTICIPANT INSTRUCTIONS you cross the start line, and again when you cross the finish line. These shoe tags will be collected after the completion of your event. Any shoe tag not returned will incur a $50 replacement fee following the event. Series entrants will be re-issued timing tags at each event. n AEROBICS WARM-UP Aerobics warm-ups will commence from the main stage prior to each event at 6:40pm (3.6km run), and 7:05pm (7.2km run, and 4km/8km walkers). n CLOTHING BAGS The clothing area will have bags and storage for clothing. To minimise time in queues, come prepared with your own bag. Your race number needs to be largely written on the bottom of a clear plastic bag. Do not leave any valuables in clothing bags; we cannot accept responsibility for the loss of any valuables. n FOOD & BEVERAGES Thanks to the good people at Mr Burger and Banh Mi Boys you won’t need to worry about your post run hunger fix! You’ll also be able a refreshment at our Sunset Bar. n DRINK STATIONS Drink stations will be located in the assembly area, and on course. n FIRST AID St John First Aid will be located at the finish line, and a roving bike crew will be on course. If you need medical attention on the course, please advise a course marshal. n TOILETS Toilets are located at the assembly area, on course within the Melbourne Zoo. n BROOKS SERIES T-SHIRT The first 1,200 participants who enter the Sunset Series, presented by Brooks, receive a Brooks technical T-Shirt. T-shirts will not be mailed out. They will be available for collection from from Running Fit, from Friday, 31 January 10.00am – until Tuesday 4 Feb 6:00pm or at T-shirt Collection Marque at the event. Sizes available on a first come, first served basis. n PRESENTATION CEREMONIES Medals will be awarded to male/ female placegetters of the 3.6km and 7.2km run events. The walk is a non-competitive, participation event. There will be no prize for the first walker across the line.

n CONTINGENCY Start to Finish, in the interest of participant safety, reserves the right to alter the course and/ or event site and event times without notice. n CHANGING YOUR DISTANCE If you wish to change your distance for Race 2 or 3 in the series, please advise a staff member at the Entries marquee, or email [email protected] by 5:00pm on the Monday prior to each race, with your name, date of birth and distance you wish to change to. n RESULTS AND CERTIFICATES Provisional results will be displayed live at www.starttofinish. com.au n EVENT PHOTOS For post-event photos, please visit: www.supersportimages.com n SPONSOR OFFERS • BROOKS Feeling lucky? n COURSE The course consists of one or two laps (3.6km one lap, 7.2km two laps). Due to The Zoo restructuring its meerkat enclosure, the course at Race 1 has been shortened to 3.6km and 7.2km. We apologise for any inconvenience. Please be cautious on your second lap as you may be running into the back of other runners/ walkers. Please listen to instructions given by course marshals.

Please keep to the left if walking, or slower than other runners. Kilometre points will be clearly signed. There will be general public using the course, so please be aware you are sharing the footpath with others. For the safety of all, NO DOGS, ROLLERBLADES, SCOOTERS OR BIKES ALLOWED. For your own safety, please ensure you eat and drink adequately during the day of the event. Tortoise and peacocks roam the zoo so please be mindful of them on the track.
