PARTICIPANT INSTRUCTIONS INDULGE THE HEALTHY WAY WEDNESDAY, 11 DECEMBER 6:00 PM 2KM/5KM/10KM. PALMS LAWN, ALBERT PARK

You have entered the Emma & Tom’s Christmas Run. The event commences at Palms Lawn, Albert Park (Mel Ref: 2K F6). If you have any queries, please call Start to Finish Event Management on 9285 0600.

5:00pm. Cost: $48 for adults, $32 for children under 15 years, $45 for health care card holders plus students, $125 for a family of 2 adults and 2 children and $16 for 2km Rudolph kids run. NO REFUNDS.

n CHANGING YOUR DISTANCE Please email [email protected] by 5:00pm on Monday, 9 December, prior to the race, with your name, date of birth and distance you wish to change to. Alternatively, you can change your distance on the evening of the event via the Entries marquee.

Your family and friends can still enter: • Online at www.starttofinish.com.au (online entries close at 12:00noon on Tuesday, 10 December) • On day from 5:00pm at the Entries marquee n RACE NUMBERS You can collect your race number at the Number Pick Up marquee from 5:00pm. Anyone without a race number will not be permitted to enter the event. NOTE: RACE NUMBERS WILL NOT BE SENT IN THE MAIL.

n BROOKS TECHNICAL RUNNING T-SHIRT The first 1,800 entrants will receive a Brooks Technical T-shirt. If eligible, you will have a tear off strip attached to your race number. Simply present this to the T-shirt Collection marquee. Sizes available on a first come, first served basis.

n CAR PARKING Limited parking is available in the Lakeside car park off Aughtie Drive, opposite the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre, next to the Lakeside Stadium. Please note that parking restrictions and fees apply.

IF DRIVING TO ALBERT PARK, BE AWARE THAT TRAFFIC WILL BE HEAVIER THAN USUAL AS CHRISTMAS IS NOT TOO FAR AWAY! PLEASE ALLOW ADDITIONAL TRAVEL TIME. n PUBLIC TRANSPORT Tram number 96 from Spencer St: Disembark at the tram stop near the corner of Ferrars St and Albert Rd. Tram number 112 from Spencer St and Clarendon St: Disembark at the tram stop on Albert Rd. n COURSE Participants will begin at Palms Lawn at Albert Park Lake and run in an anti-clockwise direction around Albert Park Lake – 1 lap for 5km and 2 laps for 10km. Kilometre points will be clearly signed and a lead cyclist will direct each event. Please note: if you believe you have a chance of placing, make sure you start at the front of the first wave as placegetters will be awarded based on gun time. For your own safety, please ensure you eat and drink adequately prior to the event. For the safety of all, NO DOGS, ROLLERBLADES, SCOOTERS OR BIKES ALLOWED. Running etiquette: please keep to the left if walking, or slower than other runners. n WAVE STARTS There will be two wave starts for each distance, based on expected finish time, and coordinated at the start line on the evening of the event. n PACE LEADERS The South Melbourne Athletics Club (SMAC) will be providing pacers to achieve the following finish times: 5km – 20 minutes, 25 minutes and 30 minutes 10km – 40 minutes, 45 minutes, 50 minutes, 55 minutes and 60 minutes. All Pace Leaders will be easily identifiable in red and white athletic gear with their particular pace time clearly visible.

n TIMING Start to Finish uses the IPICO timing system. The shoe tag must be attached to your shoe using the ties provided in the race kit. This device will be activated once you cross the start line, and again when you cross the finish line. These shoe tags will be collected after the completion of your event. Any shoe tag not returned will incur a $50 replacement cost following the event. n AEROBICS WARM UP Join the Running Fit Coaching group warm-up in front of the main stage at 6:10pm for the 5km event and 6:40pm for the 10km event. n CLOTHING Clothing storage is available during the run/walk. Your race number features a tear-off strip for you to attach to your backpack or clothing bag (plastic bags are available if needed). Do not leave any valuables in the clothing bags. We cannot accept responsibility for valuables lost or stolen. n DRINKS STATIONS Drink stations will be located on course, at the finish area and near Palms Lawn (for the 10km event only). n FIRST AID St John First Aid will be located at the finish line and a roving bike crew will be on course. If you need medical attention on the course, please advise a course marshal or drink station attendant. n TOILETS Portable toilets will be available for all participants and spectators close to Palms Lawn. Public toilets are also available near the event site. n T-SHIRT SALES Past event t-shirts will be available for sale from just $10. A fantastic stocking filler for Christmas or a cheap running t-shirt for yourself! n PRODUCT GIVEAWAYS Each participant will receive a bottle of Woolworths water, a bottle of Emma & Tom’s juice plus health bar. Food for Health will also be providing samples postevent.

n FOOD AND BEVERAGE Make sure you bring along a picnic blanket and grab a bite to eat after your run/walk. Mocha Monkey will have on offer hot and cold food and beverages, and there will be a sausage sizzle with all proceeds going to Peter Mac. n ENTERTAINMENT The Salvation Army Christmas Carollers will be spreading Christmas cheer at the event. Be sure to stay on and enjoy the Christmas atmosphere. There may even be an appearance by Santa himself! n PRESENTATION CEREMONIES Medals will be awarded to the first three placegetters of the 5km and 10km run events. The walk is a noncompetitive, participant event with no prize for the first walker across the line. To compensate, we reserve more random spot prizes for walk participants. n RESULTS AND CERTIFICATES Visit www.starttofinish.com.au for your results and to download certificates from 10:00am on Thursday, 12 December. Results can also be accessed via the Start to Finish iPhone app. n EVENT PHOTOS For post-event photos, please visit the Supersport Images website: www.supersportimages.com from Friday, 13 December. The photos will be posted online late afternoon. n CONTINGENCY Start to Finish, in the interest of participant safety, reserves the right to alter the course and/or race format without notice. n ON DAY SPONSER OFFERS: EMMA & TOM’S The Christmas Run is proudly sponsored by Emma & Tom’s juices and health bars.
