Prince Albert Raiders Game Notes RAIDER REVIEW: The Raiders dropped the second game of the series by a final score of 3-1 on Sunday evening in Edmonton. 19-year-old winger Dakota Conroy broke the scoreless deadlock 20 seconds into the third period with his second goal of the series. Near the midway mark of the period, the Oil Kings took over, scoring to tie the game and taking the lead 4 minutes later. They added insurance with 5 minutes to go in regulation and hung on for the victory. 20-year-old goaltender Cole Cheveldave stopped 29 of 23 shots in a losing cause. VS OIL KINGS: The Raiders went 2-2-0-0 against the Oil Kings in the regular season, with both wins coming in Edmonton. 18-year-old centre Leon Draisaitl had 2 goals and 5 assists in the regular season series while 19-year-old winger Dakota Conroy scored 3 times and added 3 helpers. PLAYOFF EXPERIENCE: 20-year-old forward Collin Valcourt leads the team with 35 games of playoff experience, scoring 2 goals and 14 assists along with 34 penalty minutes. 19-year-old centre Calder Brooks has played in 20 post-season games, with 3 goals and 2 assists. 20-year-old goaltender Cole Cheveldave has played 22 WHL playoffs games in his career, with a record of 13-9. DAVID VS GOLIATH: An eight seed team has never upset the number one seed in the first round of the WHL Playoffs. RARE ROOKIE: Nick McBride is the first 16-year-old to play between the pipes for a full season since Aaron Sorochan guarded the blue paint for the Raiders in 2000-2001. DISCIPLINE: The Raiders of 2013-2014 took less penalty minutes than any other Raider team in history, with only 824 on the season and the fewest in the Eastern Conference. CENTURY MARK: 18-year-old centre Leon Draisaitl became the first Raider to reach 100 points in a single season since Steve Kelly got 101 in 1995-96. His 105 on the year is the most since Van Burgess recorded 111 points in 1993-1994. His total earned him a tie for 4th overall in WHL scoring this season.
