What a great time here at Quilters’ Choice! The staff and teachers have done it again! We are all excited about the new upcoming classes. The store is packed full of new fabrics (lots of batiks) and we are ready to share some wonderful, creative project ideas for your sewing, serging and embroidery enjoyment. Class samples will be in the store by Thursday, so if you cannot make one of the events, stop in any time starting this Thursday to see the projects and to sign up. Join us for a great line-up of classes. Meet each teacher as she presents her class project. Please be aware that this is a scheduled program with the presentation and explanation of projects at the beginning of the program and sign-ups following, so please be on time. After the presentation, we will take your sign-ups, give you a supply list and answer any questions you may have. You will receive a 10% discount on all class sign-up fees during this event. And remember, to show our appreciation for your support in our products, there’s always a 10% discount on all supplies purchased for classes.
** Cutting Up With The Cutwork Tool ** Special guest teacher Melody Hicks, owner of Bernina Sewing Centre in Lake Mary, FL 4 hour class - Hands on with Laptop - $35.00 - Fri, June 24 from 10 - 2 Melody will show you how exciting this wonderful tool from Bernina is! Learn to take any appliqué design, such as Lunch Box quilts, Sarah Vedler, Smith Street Designs and OESD and accurately cut your appliqués ready to stitch and with the webbing already attached! We'll then learn how to use the Alphabet built into the software to create our own banners. Lastly, we will create an appliqué with a pattern designed to do traditional appliqué, but we'll easily turn it into a cutwork so we never have to take out a pencil to trace again! Designer software will also be used in this class.

This quilt is made using a fabric kit from Benartex Fabrics Chloe collection and is ready to go. Hawaiian Quilting 1 Class / $32.00 Jennifer Collins Wed, May 18 from 10 – 3:30 Jennifer will teach the traditional Hawaiian method of needle turn hand appliqué – a good skill to learn and can be used for any appliqué pattern. Make a 21” Turtle block than can be a pillow top or start of a quilt, or a Sea Turtles and Dolphins wall hanging that measures 42” X 42” from the same pattern by Pacific Rim Quilts.

Using Alex Anderson’s book, you will learn how to use a rotary cutter properly and safely, create your quilt top, quilt it and apply your binding in Nan’s favorite way . . . . totally by machine. Machine Applique 3 Classes / $38.00 Nan Sat, May 7, 14 & 28 from 9:30 – 12 Learn the basics of machine appliqué while creating a beautiful table runner from one of Kim Diehl’s beautiful books. You’ll learn fusible and hand look appliqué techniques. Nan will also share the “Big Stitch” technique of hand quilting.
Free Motion Feathers 2 Classes / $32.00 Jennifer Collins Wed, June 1 & 8 from 10 - 1 Learn to design and stitch 2 styles of feathers, the basic freeform feather and the feather with a stitched spine, both building blocks to more complex feather designs. We will stitch multiple feathers on small quilt sandwiches and then graduate to a small quilt with multiple feather designs.

You will receive instructions for other great pillows and projects. Summer Broomstick Skirt 1 Class / $21.00 Nan Tues, May 10 from 10 – 12:30 If you are looking for an ‘easy to make’ skirt that is great for travel or wearing anywhere, then this is a great addition to your summer wardrobe. We will use a ruffle attachment to create gathers and a serger to finish of the seam edges. Make it long or make it short and sassy.

Gammill Long-Arm Machine Quilting Rental Certification/Refresher
Interested in learning about the long-arm quilting system? Do you have a quilt that’s too big for your machine? Well, here’s an idea – rent our Gammill machine! Participating in this certification class, will offer you the opportunity to use our equipment and experience the technique and fun of the long-arm machine. Or perhaps you took the Certification Class previously but have waited too long and forgotten most of what you learned. Take a refresher class and get up to speed again. 1 Class / 3 hours - $45.00 (includes practice fabric/batting kit)
