QUILTERS’ CORNER NEWSLETTER AUTUMN 2012 95827 916-366-6136 website:quilterscornersac.com. 9792 B BUSINESS PARK DRIVE, SACRAMENTO, CA
We’ve had our first rain storm , so I guess that is the last of the hot weather, which means we can get out those hand quilting items and have a go. Do not forget your other hand work, like applique, sashiko, and embroidery, which are great things to do on a cozy evening, by the fireplace, while watching a great movie. There are lots of things planned at the store for this October. On Sunday, October the 7th, we will have our quarterly MEET THE TEACHERS from 12-4 p.m. Come meet the new teachers and see their samples and don’t forget the goodies. There is still room in the October AUBURN RETREAT. Just $225 for a lovely weekend retreat at the Mercy Nunnery. It is quiet (except for our group), the weather will be perfect, the food is wonderful and all you have to do is sew! Do not forget our PIQF BUS TRIP. We will be gone all day Saturday, October 13th, but it is tons of fun and the price of $60 includes the entrance fee. It is without a doubt the best show on the West Coast. Now on to the fabric which is almost too much to cover, so I’ll just mention a few. All of our Halloween and Christmas is in, in plenty of time to do those holiday projects. From Andover, we just received “Sunday Best” by Jo Morton which are great shirtings and perfect for backgrounds. In September and October, we will be receiving her other lines, “Leesburg” and “Toasted”, which will co-ordinate perfectly with each other. From Moda, we will be getting “Over the Rainbow”, a combo of 1800’s and Batiks by Edyta Sitar, in beautiful jewel tones and soft co-ordinates. We will be doing a block of the month with these wonderful fabrics. For $25 per month, you will get a pattern and pre-cut pre-fused appliques which all you have to do is sew them on, or not. Also from Moda, we are receiving “Chateau Rouge” from the elegant French General series. For you Kaffe aficionados, we will be getting more of his exciting fabrics in jewel tones with some earth tones and pastels thrown in for his signature quirkiness. For you mothers and grandmothers and aunties, we will be receiving a great collection called “Animal Parade” so you can make those baby quilts. If you are into 1930’s, Aunt Grace from Marcus Brothers will be coming in this quarter. Also from Marcus Brothers we are consistently receiving 1800 fabrics to add to one the largest collections in California. From one of our favorite designers, Bonnie Blue, now called Red Crinoline, we have most of her patterns which translate well into 1800’s. We have made up quite a few samples and have them hanging for your enjoyment, or to inspire you into making one of you own. We will be closed for Christmas Eve and Christmas, so do not forget to tell the guys to shop before then. We will also have an after Thanksgiving Sale on the 23rd and 24th of November, as always, for our terrific customers. You may start signing up for $5 Saturday Sampler Block on Saturday October 27th. Can not wait to see you in the store soon……………. Dawn, Elaine, Pat , Carol, Nicole, Pam, Jeannette, Patty, Ellen, Lindsey, Diane M., Donna, Debbie, Diane S., Nancy, Sandy, Peggy and Daun
