QUILTERS’ CORNER NEWSLETTER SPRING 2012 9792 B BUSINESS PARK DRIVE, SACRAMENTO, CA 95827

916-366-6136 website:quilterscornersac.com.

Spring has sprung a little early this year. All the trees are in bloom and the tulips and daffodils are out and beautiful! We would like to remind you all of the camps/retreats still open for this year. Most of the camps are close to full and the Auburn retreat is just a sweet memory. There will be another Auburn retreat October 7- 9 , and the cost is $225. June camps, both the UFO and Pearl’s appliqué have openings. Where else can you spend 5 entire days finishing projects or learning Pearl’s special method of appliqué while overlooking beautiful Lake Tahoe? Don’t forget QUILT RUSH! This year it will be Wednesday, April 18th- Sunday, 22nd.. It’s a fun thing to do with a couple of buddies and there are prizes along the way as well as free patterns for a great basket sampler. “Papillion” by Three Sisters is finally in, with all kinds of wonderful cut goods and a great project. Also from Moda, we have “Prairie Paisley II” which will work great for those patriotic quilts we are all making for the troops. If you are expecting a new arrival , we have bunches of baby fabrics and projects, some can be made in only one day. Do you remember “Hungry Animal” from a couple of years ago? Well, it is out again and coming in soon. It has great animals and letters and the first batch sold out in days, For the Civil War buffs, we have a huge section of 1800’s as well as a block of the month or two. We have tons of Bonnie Blue patterns that are authentic reproductions from that era., and quite a few kits, including Pride and Prejudice from Kaye England, Cocheco Mills, Civil War Chronicles and many more. Laundry Basket’s new line “Love Letters” is another wonderful mix of batiks and 1800’s. If you love “Pickles” comic strip like I do (it seems to relate to my life a lot), we are getting a Pickles panel with a great project ! This would be a fast quilt to cuddle in and keep you amused at the same time. Not to neglect the 1930’s buffs, we have a new line coming in called “Once upon a Story”, consisting of thirty bolts in all. These would be great for Dresden Plates, paper piecing Grandmother’s Flower Garden, or Yo-Yos. There are many small projects to do with yo-yo makers including animals, quilts, name tags or just to embellish a jacket or purse. Speaking of purses, we have at least thirty purse samples and patterns, not to mention classes that are great for quilters and non quilters alike. Believe it or not, Halloween and Christmas fabrics are scheduled to start coming in May, so no excuses for not finishing your holiday projects in time this year! We know you have barely recovered from last year’s holidays, but it is time to start thinking about them again. Come check out what we are getting in. We have a very extensive color wall and an entire section dedicated to batiks, another for Asian and one for novelties. For inexpensive backs, we always have numerous bolts on sale 50% off, scrap bags and do not forget “End on the Month”. For the last seven days of the month, if you finish a bolt, there is a discount of 25%. Come in and stock up for your stashes. We are looking forward to seeing you Sunday, April 1st at our OPEN HOUSE/MEET THE TEACHERS. When you sign up for a class that day, you will receive a FREE fat quarter . Dawn, Elaine, Pat, Carol, Nicole, Pam, Jeannette, Diane, Donna, Sandy, Lindsay, Ellen, Patty, Debbie, Peggy, and our newest employees Nancy and Diane.
