QUILTS & KREATIONS 2014 SPRING 2014 Dear Friends, Spring has finally arrived, but the temperatures are still low and snow is in the forecast. It has been one heck of a winter. We are all craving warm sunny Spring days, hopefully they are just around the corner. Spring is the time for new beginnings, the trees and the flowers will start to bloom soon. It is also the perfect time to start a new project to perk up your home. Our shelves are well stocked with all the latest fabrics to complete all of the projects you will be making. Please take a moment to read over our class schedule, hopefully you will find a class that will interest you. Our annual Spring Fever Sale will be held Thursday April 3 through Saturday April 5. All merchandise will be 20% off. Some exclusions apply. If you are looking for some real bargains, then you will want to check out our Classroom Clearance Frenzy. We have pulled several bolts from our shelves which will be marked to 50% off. Minimum cuts will be 1 yard on the 50% off fabric. Remnants will 50% off. Selected panels will be 40% off. We will also have several “skinny bolts” with 3 yards of fabric or less for 30% off, but you must finish the bolt for this price. This is our largest clearance sale of the year. We have to make room for new merchandise. It is the time of year again when we replace our floor model and classroom sewing machines. We have some great prices on these machines, and they all come with full warranties. We only have one machine per style, so do not hesitate, they will sell quickly. If you are not interested in a floor model, we have great prices on all of the machines. You’ll want to stop in and test drive the new 880. Samples of our 4 color ways are available for your viewing. We use nothing but the latest fabric lines and best quality fabric on the market for this program. We suggest that you have some previous quilting experience to participate in this program. If you are signed up for our Paducah, Ky. remember, fashion stops at the knees while you are in Paducah, so make sure that you pack comfortable walking shoes, as we will do a lot of walking. I hope you are as excited as I am about our upcoming trip, it will be here before we know it. Our annual Shipshewana, Indiana bus trip will be on Tuesday May 13. Shipshewana is an Amish community filled with many interesting craft, antique, and quilt shops. We will be going on Tuesday when the huge flea market will be open. If you love to shop and you love crafts and such, then this is the perfect trip for you. Mark your calendar, and ask your boss for the day off. The price of the trip will be $74.00 and will include round trip bus transportation, snacks, dinner, tax and dinner gratuities. Call the shop today and reserve your seat. A $25 non refundable deposit is due within one week after making your reservation. No refunds will be made within 10 days of the trip. Refunds will be made only if we can fill your seat. For your shopping convenience we are open on Sundays from 12:00 pm until 4:00 pm. Our Sunday hours will continue until the last Sunday in April and will resume again the first Sunday in October. Most class models will be in the shop for your viewing on April 3. We are once again offering our summer sewing camp for children. Susan does a wonderful job coordinating this yearly event. It will run from July 14 to the 18. This is the perfect opportunity to get you children or grandchildren to learn how to sew, and to create the future quilters of tomorrow. There will be two classes, one is for the beginner sewer and the other is for the advanced sewer. We suggest that the children know how to operate a sewing machine and sew a straight line. SATURDAY BLOCK OF THE MONTH Make a quilt top for just $25.00 Make a quilt top for just $25.00 by joining our Saturday Block Of The Month. The program will run for 12 months. Here is how it works: On the 2nd Saturday of each month (we will also offer 2 classes on Fridays) we will introduce that month’s block and give a short demonstration of a technique or tool that can be used to make the block. At the 1st class you attend, you buy a kit for $25.00. It has the pattern and the fabric for the block in whichever color way you choose. We will be offering 4 different color ways to choose from. Go home and make the block. Bring it to the following month’s class and you get your next kit free! For example April will be the 1st month. You bring April’s finished block to the class in May and get May’s kit free. Bring May’s finished block in June and get June’s block kit free. If you want to make blocks in all 4 colors, you may, but only 1 kit a month will be free, you must pay for the others. To get your free kit you must come on the second Saturday (or Friday) of the month and stay through a session. THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS. If you can’t come one Saturday, you can buy that month’s kit for $5.00 while supplies last. Sessions are at 10:00 am or 11:30am on Fridays, 10:00am, 11:30 am. on Saturdays starting April 12 and 13, 2013. Fabric samples are in the shop for your viewing. The children will be making a lap sized quilt. This is always a fun week for the boys and girls who come to her camp. Please note: An adult must come with the child on the first day of class to help the child with fabric cutting. The morning class is for beginners, the afternoon class is for advanced sewers. SATURDAY BLOCK OF THE MONTH Make a quilt top for just $25.00 Make a quilt top for just $25.00 by joining our Saturday Block Of The Month. The program will run for 12 months. Here is how it works: On the 2nd Saturday of each month (we will also offer 2 classes on Fridays) we will introduce that month’s block and give a short demonstration of a technique or tool that can be used to make the block. At the 1st class you attend, you buy a kit for $25.00. It has the pattern and the fabric for the block in whichever color way you choose. We will be offering 4 different color ways to choose from. Go home and make the block. Bring it to the following month’s class and you get your next kit free! For example April will be the 1st month. You bring April’s finished block to the class in May and get May’s kit free. Bring May’s finished block in June and get June’s block kit free. If you want to make blocks in all 4 colors, you may, but only 1 kit a month will be free, you must pay for the others. To get your free kit you must come on the second Saturday (or Friday) of the month and stay through a session. THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS. If you can’t come one Saturday, you can buy that month’s kit for $5.00 while supplies last. Sessions are at 10:00 am or 11:30am on Fridays, 10:00am, 11:30 am. on Saturdays starting April 12 and 13, 2013. Fabric samples are in the shop for your viewing. We suggest that you have some previous quilting experience to participate in this program. You must pre register for this program.
