QUILTS & KREATIONS 2016 FALL 2016 Dear Friends, It is once again time to dust off those sewing machines. We have a large line up of classes for you to choose from. I’m sure that we have a class that will appeal to each and every one of you. If you see a class that you are interested in and the class dates do not work for you, and gather 3 of your friends and we attempt to provide a private class for you. Quilts & Kreations just celebrated it’s 36th Anniversary, what a celebration it was, starting off our celebrations in July, when customers had the opportunity to earn Quilts & Kreations Bucks that were used as entries for the 12 gift baskets and a quilt given away in our Chinese Auction. We wrapped up our celebrations on September 17. Congratulations to all of the winners, a list of the winners is posted in the shop. Keith and I would like to thank you for your support over the years. Without your loyalty and support our 36th anniversary would not have been possible. We are also very grateful for our wonderful staff, Lisa, Susan and Charlotte. They are dedicated to serving you and helping you reach your fullest potential as a quilter. This was our second year participating in the Row By Row Experience. This nationwide shop hop that lasted from the end of June to the first week in September. It was a fun experience and we met so many wonderful quilters. We had hoppers from 30 states and Canada who visited us. We hope that you and your friends will plan on participating in this fun event next summer. This has been an exciting year for BERNINA. They have released several new machines to their line. A modern sewing machine must perform many tasks and be adaptable to the individual needs of it user. BERNINA has many options to fit every sewer’s needs. You will want to stop in and see what BERNINA has to offer you. We have several machines that we are closing out at some great prices, in addition to floor models that are also reduced in price. Don’t miss the opportunity to buy a BERNINA at a great price. To kick off the Christmas season we will hold our annual Christmas Open House on Saturday November 19. I have been busy planning the bus trip that Quilts & Kreations is sponsoring to the 2017 AQS Quilt Show in Paducah, Ky. If this trip has been on your bucket list, this is the year to do it. The AQS quilt show is a “must see” quilt show! Only the best entries from around the world are selected for this competition. Every quilter must attend at least one AQS Quilt Show in Paducah in their lifetime. I promise you a fun filled four days. We will be staying at the Harrah’s Hotel & Casino in Metropolis, Illinois, across the river from Paducah. If you have already reserved your space for the trip, we will start taking deposits Sunday, October 30, at 12:00pm. You may reserve the bus seat you would like to sit in when you make your $100 deposit. All deposits must be made by November 26, to guarantee your seat. Full payment is due by February 13, 2017. The quilt measures 52” X 67”. The Flying Geese Pineapple is a variation of the basic Log Cabin arrangement. By using light and dark contrasting fabrics in the corners and center blocks a 3-dimensional pattern has been created. No special rulers are needed. You will learn all areas of quilting. You will learn how to scissor cut blocks, rotary cut blocks, hand applique, and hand quilt. Embroidery Club Our embroidery club is free for our BERNINA customers that own embroidery machines. We will discuss new products on the market for embroidery, and give you ideas on how to get the most out of your embroidery units. Please bring “show and tell” items. You must register for this class. Tuesday December 6 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm Quick Gifts School House $28.00 1 class For the past 2 years we did a Holiday Make & Take class that was a huge hit. This year we are trying something new. You will come to “school” and watch a lecture/demo class on 4 different projects. You will receive a kit including the pattern for each of the projects that we make to take home so you can make the projects at your leisure. We will also have door prizes.
