In just his first year coaching the St. Mary’s Men’s Soccer program, Michael Bonelli produced tremendous results, charting the program’s first winning season since 2002. The Rattlers advanced to the Heartland Conference Championship Tournament semifinals under the helm of Bonelli, which saw two defenders make the All-Tournament Team. On the season, Bonelli coached five players that were selected All-Heartland Conference and saw the program’s first-ever South Central Regional ranking. Before becoming the St. Mary’s Men’s Soccer head coach, Bonelli was head coach at Slippery Rock for four years where he led his team to a PSAC Championship, an NCAA Regional appearance and a No. 8 national ranking. Before becoming a head coach, Bonelli was an assistant coach at several prestigious NCAA Division I universities. His assistant coaching stints included time at Northwestern University of the Big 10 Conference, Lafayette College of the Patriot League and Wright State University of the Horizon League.
