Reading Notes Instructions 1. Set up Notes (this is with the usual notes format discussed in Chapter 2) 2. Use the current Unit and the title of the text you just annotated as the title of the notes 3. Put your first main idea on the left side of the notes 4. Summarize everything you underlined about that main idea on the right side of the notes 5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 with each of your main ideas 6. Write an objective summary at the end of the notes 7. The objective summary must include all 5 Ws

Who: names, groups of people When: years, time periods Where: places, regions What: events, ideas Why: causes, motivations
