The presentation will emphasize how the proactive, systematic arrangement of events in the environment can promote positive learning outcomes for infants, toddlers, and preschool age children. reducing the motivation (need) to engage in challenging behaviors. Participants: Parents, home based and center based early childhood providers participating in the Program wide PBIS Project (invitation only) Training Outcomes: Participants will be able to:  Define basic behavioral concepts such as reinforcement, the Antecedent-BehaviorConsequence paradigm, and motivation.  Describe teaching interactions as the relationship between environmental events, children’s learning of new skills, and the behavior of adults in response to children’s behavior.  Describe the functional relationship between antecedent events, the learning of important developmental skills, and the consequences that lead to acquisition of those skills.  Describe the functional relationship between antecedent events, problem behavior, and consequences that serve to maintain problem behavior  Define function based interventions to reduce problem behaviors in young children Presenters: William Galbraith, Ph.D., BCBA; Dr. DeVoka Gordon, Michael Brink and Mary Montgomery, EITA Consultants
