Question from Georg Gold (Turner Construction Company) at 11:47 PM on 04/19/2016 Question #1: On detail 5/S401 full height studs are shown to be attached to roof purlin with (3) #10 screws. Would it be acceptable to use (3) 1 ¼” Tico Nails instead of #10 screws? If not, what length screws are to be used? Question #2: At grid line C the ceiling height is approximately 20’10” while at grid line A the ceiling height is approximately 19’2”. Would it be acceptable to use L/120 400S162-33 that span at 23'11" for interior partition walls so that one type of stud can be purchased for the majority of the project. Question #3: Please reference A201.A, S201.A, 1/S401 Drawing S201.A shows stiffeners being required in wall spanning from grid line 9.3/A0.5 to 9.3/B0.5 which are typical for a freewall application as shown in detail 1/S401. Drawing A201.A calls out same wall to be S4.2N> which is a full height wall. Please confirm that wall spanning from grid line 9.3/A0.5 to 9.3/B0.5 only needs to be a full height wall with no freewall stiffeners. Question #4: Per note #2 on 3/S401, please confirm that detail 8/S401 can be used in lieu of 3/S401. Question #5: Per detail 9/S401 would it be acceptable to use 400T150-33 track in lieu of 400T150-43 track? Question #6: Please reference drawing S100 note E8.B. Would it be acceptable to use #8 gauge screws instead of #10 screws for 20 guage studs?

RFI #009 Response from Georg Gold (Turner Construction Company) at 10:26 AM on 04/22/2016 Please reference drawing S301.A, On S301.A on grid line A.5/6 a HDR header is called out to be installed. This header calls out detail 10/S401 which in turn calls out detail 3/S401. Would it be acceptable to use detail 8/S401 in lieu of Header Framing Detail 3/S401 as ceiling gypsum board will be installed in the entry way to mud room 142? VLMK RESPONSE: Please see attached revised framing plan (sheet R-001) for the referenced area. After discussion with HEA, it was Attachments: determined that the headers are needed to prevent the necessity of a vertical drywall joint at either end of the span (due to roof deflection concerns of adjacent/continuous floor-supported and roof-suspended wall surfaces).
