Three-peat: Varsity four wins third-straight national title

3 14 2

Wisconsin’s lightweight varsity four were crowned national champions for the third-straight year at the IRA national championships regatta. The Badgers won the title with a first-place time of 7:35.087, which was five seconds better than the second-place boat. The Badgers’ lightweight varsity eight placed third at the national championships, marking the 14th-straight season that UW has finished in the top four. The bronze finish is also the 17th-straight year Wisconsin has placed in the top-five at the national championship regatta. UW put two boats at the top of the podium at the Knecht Cup in New Jersey. The Badgers got first-place finishes from both the lightweight varsity eight and lightweight novice eight boats. Varsity Four
