Age Level Coordinator Reports: o o

Girls: U14 update (Dan Volker) St. Cloud will not “host” a 14U team due to the lack in numbers at this level. Sartell/SR have sent us a proposal (hard copy in minutes) if there are girls who are interested in playing at the 14U level instead of opting to move to highschool. On another note: D5 will not host a “Girl’s Fun Day” as a whole association, but rather have each association “host” their own Fun Day. Last year was a success and D5 did receive a nice amount of $ that will be distributed to the individual associations for this event. Focus this year needs to be for girls to get out and “try hockey”.

Coach in Charge Report: We currently only have a handful of applications for coaches and I am worried people will push off till the last minute and we will run into problems getting our coaches certified for the year. Coaches, it only takes 5 minutes to fill out the application and forward to me so we have an idea of how we are standing for people to mentor our kids. Fall hockey starts this weekend which means tryouts and winter season are just around the bend. If you love the game and love working with and mentoring kids please consider being a coach for SCYHA. SCYHA want to put the best coaches we can on the ice because it really is "ALL ABOUT THE KIDS"

Unfinished Business: Skills and Drills: It has been a huge challenge to get dates lined up with Robby Glantz due to his schedule and our ice availability. Will not move forward with Scott Bjugstad at this time. New Business: Recruitment Incentive: Families will receive a maximum credit of $100 for every new family they bring in to the association. Recruited player must be U10/Squirt and below and new to hockey. $50 will be credited to the recruiting family in year 1 and an additional credit of $50 will be awarded if recruited player registers and plays for a second season. Motion to approve Minutes: Motion was passed by the Board.

T-shirts are being made at the Jr. Mite/Mite level to be passed out at sign up to help recruit more players. Chip Shoppe (Scott A.) Rick Anderson from the Chip Shoppe presented the Board with the opportunity to use this company as our “food” fundraiser this year. Some of the notes from his presentation: They will pay for all prizes and incentives Provide a limo for the top selling team They will do the arranging for the “pick up” of items Will provide cookie dough to each player at the Jr. Mite level There is an online shopping site as well that is not “food” that can be shipped to the buyers Rick will come and present to the teams…he feels it is crucial that the kids are excited in the locker room Rick will personally help the coordinator get the fundraiser off and running Free item will be provided to all the golfers at the Golf tournament Motion to approve Minutes:

1st: Jamey Cumming

2nd: Kayla Johnson

Motion was passed by the Board.

Bantam Declarations: At this time 12 players are not returning for their Bantam season and it is anticipated that more will leave. This leaves about 16 players per team, not including goalies to form three teams. Board revisited the declarations. Mande Musielewicz made a motion to have 1A, 1B1 and 1B team at the bantam level. Ira Hopper seconded the motion. Motion was passed by the Board. A discussion was led to look at the Peewee level as well. Mike Petroske made a motion for 1A, 1B1, 1B and 1C team at the Peewee level. Jamey Cumming seconded the motion. Motion was passed by the Board. Announcements: Next BOD Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, September 12th, 2012 at Pesty’s at 8 pm SCYHA Golf Tournament: Scheduled for Friday, September 14th at Wapicada Golf Course. In need of Silent Auction items. Coaches, Treasurers, Managers Meeting: Scheduled for Monday, October 15th at the Legion in St. Augusta at 7 pm. St. Cloud will host a LEVEL ONE Coaches Clinic at the MAC on December 2nd. Adjournment: 1st: Ira Hoper 2nd: Jeff Hess
