Don’t be afraid of knits! They are easier to sew than you think. In this class, we will make a simple knit top. It can be made with either a serger or a regular sewing machine. You will need basic garment-making skills and your own serger/machine.
General supplies needed: Fabric (please pre-wash) Any notions needed for your pattern Clear elastic, Seams Great sheer seam tape, or fusible tricot interfacing (for stabilizing shoulder seams) You will need two spools of matching thread (for twin needle hemming) If your machine has this capability Straight pins Marking tools Tape measure Scissors for cutting fabric Recommended book: Sew Knits with Confidence by: Nancy Zieman (optional) Additional items needed if sewing with a regular sewing machine: Your machine and manual Walking foot if you have one (optional) Stretch ballpoint sewing machine needles that fit your machine. Twin sewing machine needle (stretch or ballpoint if possible) Additional items needed if sewing with a serger Your serger and manual Needles to fit your serger ballpoint / stretch that fit your machine 4 cones of serger thread in matching or blending color Please check your manual for instructions on twin needle hem. Many machines do not have this capability.
