Tashlich Tashlich can be said in the presence of any running body of water. Here in Kemp Mill there are a number of streams that feed into the North Branch. There's a good place on Lovejoy Street between Lamberton Dr & Stonington Place. Another location is a stream that parallels Lamberton Dr. all the way at the east end of Lamberton. Access is via a bridge that crosses the stream, located between Charlton & Gilsan. There's also access to a stream accessible from the very end of Auth (go through the woods) just to the left of 11704 Auth. Another access point is at the very east end of Kersey where it dead ends. Continue onto the grass just to the left of 613 Bromley which is the cross street there. Early Mincha on Monday, September 14 will be held at 6:00 pm to allow time to recite tashlich. In the event of rain Tashlich can be said through Hoshana Rabba (except on Shabbat).

Yahrzeit Kibbud Notifications It is customary for men to receive an Aliyah or other Kibbud on the Shabbat before a Yahrzeit. As KMS has gotten larger, our Yahrzeit list has unfortunately grown as well, making it increasingly difficult for our Gabbaim to personally contact all individuals about receiving a kibbud. Therefore, beginning with Yahrzeits occurring on or after Shabbat Shuva, September 19, we ask that all members who wish to receive a Kibbud please contact the appropriate minyan Gabbai to make arrangements, preferably at least a week in advance of the yahrzeit date. 7:00 Minyan - Jonathan Rosenberg, [email protected] (301-681-9361) 8:00 Minyan - Jeff Adler, [email protected] (301-681-4672) 8:45 Minyan and Mincha - Chaim Himmelfarb, [email protected] (301-649-1559) If we cannot accommodate you at one minyan because of a previously scheduled simcha, we will try to accommodate you at another. This change will not affect the Yahrzeit notices you receive from the KMS office; you will continue to receive them well in advance of the Yahrzeit.

Save the Date September 19, 2015: 6:45 pm, Shabbat Shuva Drasha by Rabbi Weinberg. “It Takes Two to Tango: The Nuance of Human Relationships and the Nature of Forgiveness.” This class will be dedicated to understanding some essential questions about the nature of teshuva as well as the nature of human interaction. It will help us to understand what makes us tick, how we are affected by the world around us, and perhaps what we wish to accomplish in the coming year. November 8, 2015: 7:30 pm, Installation Event: We are planning an installation event for Rabbi Weinberg. Please save the date. Additional details on the event will be provided soon.
