Camp Staff

The Soccer Skills Academy staff 
 has years of soccer experience. Donny DeStefano, who was a 
 Division II All-League soccer player 
 in college, has several years of assistant 
 and head coaching experience at the 
 high school level, including three years 
 as part of the Newton soccer program. 
 Donny was also a standout athlete 
 at Newton High School in the 1990s. Brian Martin has been a player, coach, 
 and trainer for the past 20+ years. 
 Brian played for Muhlenberg College
 in Allentown, PA. Currently he is head coach for the Newton High School Boys' Varsity Soccer Team. During the 2012 season he helped lead the Braves to the first state title in Sussex County history. In 2013 and 2016 coach Martin again led the Braves to the Group II State Final. Coach Martin has been honored as both the NJ Herald Coach of the Year and the Mugs Media Coach of the Year. He is a 4th grade teacher at Green Hills School. Matt Martinka is a Newton High School Alumnus and former All State Selection from the Newton High School soccer program. Matt was also a two-time team captain for the Division I college soccer program at Bowling Green State University. Currently, Matt is a certified elementary school teacher and local youth soccer trainer. If your son or daughter is interested in goalie training please specify on the registration form. Goalie instructors will work with players on a daily basis, based upon age and ability levels. In order to facilitate the best instruction possible, we will also have numerous Newton High School Alumni players on staff.

 attend the Soccer Skills Academy Camp. In the event of injury or illness, I give the

Soccer Skills Camp Session 1

$150.00 per camper

If you preregister by mail before June 24th, the price per camper is $125.00 July 10th-14th 9:00 am -12:00 pm 1st - 8th grade During this week-long camp, participants will be divided into age/skill appropriate groups to work on ball skills, correct positioning, and attacking/defending. These learning objectives will be accomplished through the use of stations, individual instruction and game scenarios.

If you preregister by mail before June 24th the price per camper is $125.00 August 7th-11th 9:00 am-12:00 pm

1st - 8th grade

This year we have included an additional week of camp in order to accommodate summer schedules. Although the focus will remain similar to Session 1, we will include additional exercises and drills for repeat participants. Again, players who attend both sessions will receive a discount.

These camps consist of outdoor activities. Registration for any camp should come with the understanding that a portion of a camp may be impacted or canceled due to adverse weather conditions.
