Coach Ron Simpson began his 18th season as head coach of the Methodist University softball program in 2016.
He has guided the Monarchs to six NCAA appearances with an impressive runnerup finish at Regionals in 2003. Under his guidance, the Monarchs won backto-back USA South regular season and conference tournament championships in 2006 and 2007, and received regional and national rankings. In 2006, the Monarchs reached their all-time highest ranking, 7th and and set a school record with 39 wins. Simpson was recognized as the Dixie Intercollegiate Athletic Conference/USA South Athletic Conference Coach of the Year in 1999, 2001, 2002 and 2006. Entering 2016, his record at Methodist stood at 458-273-1 (.626)
Softball Camp 2016
Simpson brings extraordinary experience and success to Methodist. Prior to joining the Monarchs, he served as the head coach at St. Andrews Presbysterian College (now St. Andrews University) in Laurinburg, North Carolina, and Faulkner State Community and Junior College in Bay Minette, Alabama. Additionally, he coached softball in the United States Air Force from 1980 to 1996, serving as the All-Air Force Coach for nine years and the All-Armed Forces Coach for four years. He is a retired Lt Col, USAF. Coach Simpson holds a career coaching record in softball of 1205-668-1 at all levels. He has coached 39 collegiate first team all-conference players, 22 American Softball Association All-Americans and five Collegiate All-Americans.

Cost
The registration fee is $100.00 and includes supplemental accident insurance coverage and an official Methodist University Softball Camp T-shirt. A check for $100.00 and the registration application are preferred prior to the camp. Campers may register the first day of camp.

Age Groups
The camp is open to girls ages 7-8 and 9-14. Previous team or competitive experience is not required, but all campers will need a desire to improve their skills.
Provisions
Campers should wear comfortable clothing and softball shoes and bring a glove, a bat and a desire for learning, plenty of fun and energy!

Camp Schedule
The daily schedule will vary each day depending on the subjects being covered. Campers will rotate through various stations throughout the day. A detailed schedule will be available the first day of the camp. Parents and coaches are welcome to attend any of the camp sessions to observe, learn or participate where appropriate.

No refunds/deductions will be issued for late arrival or early departure, except if the camp should end prior to its scheduled closing date. In this event, campers will be paid back pro rata.

Registration
Registration will be held from 7:45 - 8:30 A.M. on Monday June 13th for ages 7-14 at Price Softball Field. Activities will begin Monday-Friday promptly at 8:30 A.M. each day and conclude at 12:30 P.M. Staff will remain until all campers have been picked up by parents, relatives or friends.
