SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES Wednesday, August 23, 2017 Cassia County Courthouse ▪ Commission Chambers 1459 Overland Ave ▪ Room 206 ▪ Burley ID 83318
8:30 AM The Cassia County Board of Commissioners met today at the place and time as posted by agenda pursuant to Idaho Code § 74-204 for Open Meetings Law. They departed from the Cassia County Courthouse to travel to the Cassia County Road and Bridge Shale Pit, 842 East Oakley-Elba Road, Elba ID to review culverts and roads in the designated Road and Bridge area. 8:30 AM Those Present. Paul Christensen - Member, Tim Darrington - Member, Bob Kunau - Chair, Kerry D. McMurray - Administrator (Not voting), Sam Adams – Road and Bridge Supervisor (Not voting), Larry Kincade, Tom Ottley, Ryan Hawker 1) Cassia County shale pit – 842 East Oakley-Elba Road a. Local citizens have requested access to the pit and to use some of the shale for personal use. b. Mr. Kincade spoke of past abuse regarding the use of the pit and material. He urged that the current prohibition to private access and use remain in place as there are other private sources for local citizens to use in the area. 2) Review of a number of culvert issues and road rebuilding projects that are either in process or are planned for the future. 3) No formal action was taken. 4) 3:20 PM Adjourn
